Knitting For Charity

Does anyone else here knit?
This is what I'm knitting for at the moment. I thought it was time i moved beyond scarves, and i'm perfectly happy knitting for charity- there are so many babies out there that are unclothed, and if i can help to dress one of them, that'll be fantastic.

What it is: people around Australia knit clothes for newborns to six year olds, (using whatever pattern you want, but the pharmacy that is facilitating this gives out free patterns as well) and then they're sent overseas by World Vision to poor communities to help keep babies and children warm in winter.

Anyone else here interested in doing this?
Non Australians, what do you think of the idea, and would you like to join me in knitting something, maybe you could donate it to a charity of your choosing.
I thought it'd be cool to be able to encourage each other. I'm prone to giving up without meaning to. Like i'll stop to do assignments, and then forget about it.

But right now i intend to make at least one item of clothing. I'm making a navy blue cardigan for a 2 month old. (though i suppose babies over there could be a lot smaller than this at two months old)
