Freshman (acoustic)- The Verve Pipe

My high school bio teacher had some songs he used to play during class when we had study days.  This was one of them.

The National - Gospel

I just... can't stop listening to this CD. In such an amazing year for new music, it's some feat to stand head and shoulders above most of the rest, but this really is in a class of its own.

Diplo's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, 16/09/07. Rather good, although occasionally patchy. It has a choral version of The Knife's Heartbeats, which is the song that got me into music, and thus I squealed with delight. Also, M.I.A.'s Boyz and Battles' Atlas (I think, definitely a Battles song, but it's not on the tracklist) works together very nicely.

I think I've got something to do between 2 and 4 am of a Sunday morning now.

Stop This Song (Lovesick Melody)- Paramore

This is one of my favorites of theirs.  I wish it was actually on their album and not a bonus track on a certain edition.  Everyone should be able to have this song.  Well, there's always the internet, that's where I got it.

A mix I made entitled "Country That Does Not Make Me Want to Jam Sharp Pointy Objects Into My Ears."

At least two songs each by Son Volt, Old 97's (my favorite alt-country band--there are four songs by them on the CD), Neko Case, Drive-By Truckers, The Avett Brothers, Wilco, Johnny Cash, and Ryan Adams.

It was only after I burned it that I realized I completely forgot about Uncle Tupelo and The Jayhawks, but there wouldn't have been enough room on the CD anyway.

(Current song:  Old 97's - Rollerskate Skinny)

Dinosaur Jr.- Beyond, and i'm lovin it more with each listen. Who would've thoghut they could do better than livin all over me? Well they have, this is consistantly great and there is more unity in there sound than ever before, Barlow proves that he really is a part of the Dino jr sound, that is what they've been missin all these years. And Mascis is more impressive than ever, there is more control here, more maturity to his sound. Just a great great great band. I can't believe i missed them when they were here earlier this year.

Breathe- Paramore

This song is really pretty.  The vocals were amazing.  I wish the verse didn't repeat itself, but it's a demo so I guess they had planned on writing the second verse later.

That song is hella gratifying to play on guitar, and not nearly as hard as it is cool.

I'm listening to the heavy tracks from Estradasphere's Palace of Mirrors. Basically, it sounds like Gypsy Fiddling had sex with Meshuggah while on acid, and it brought an accordion along to play.

I loved this album when I was a kid... I'll still listen to it ever now and then.
