Dark Corners Of The Earth
« on: 10 Jun 2006, 23:30 »

Has anyone else played this? Holy shit it's good.

I've been waiting for another good, scary game based on the Cthulhu mythos for a long, long time - pretty much since I finished Alone In The Dark. This game delivers in spades.

The best part of the game has got to be the fear system. Your character actually gets progressively more and more scared as he gets into unpleasant situations, and his reactions are carried off brilliantly.

Picture this: you're walking around an old abandoned newspaper office in Innsmouth, hearing your quickening heartbeat in your ears. As you walk through a door and find a decomposed body hanging from the ceiling, you curse, your vision swims, and your pulse races. You hear a sound behind you, and spin, only to find that you're imagining things. Or are you?

If you enjoy games like Clive Barker's Undying and Thief, and you're a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos, you seriously owe it to yourself to get this game.
