Did any QCers other than me and the Oxfam volunteer in the "music+science=sexy" T go to the Carling weekend? It was awesome!

Bands I loved included:
Animal Collective
Broken Social Scene
Hot Chip
Dresden Dolls
Gogol Bordello (gypsy Punk)
The Kooks
+ kaiser cheifs, franz ferdinand, arctic monkeys, the streets, etc....

The best festival in the world!

I was there! I was up in brownfields, just got back this afternoon.

Broken Social Scene raped my face. They were so awesome.
Arctic Monkeys put on a bloody good show, and i usually dislike them quite a lot.
Clap your hands say Yeah were good, but looked like they didn't want to be there. The crowd were far more enthusuastic than the band.
Kooks were awesome, I was right at the front. It was absolutey mucking fental, and i had to surf my way to safety.
Muse, Dashboard, Munn Ra were all very good.

Did anyone see the Panic! singer get bottled?

I'm insanely jealous of everyone who went. I need to see Muse so so badly.
Was there any trouble this year?

See the thread entitled "Awesome".

AFAIK there were no big riots - the 'Love not Riots'  campaign must have worked. http://www.lovenotriots.com/[url]

IMHO muse were a bit dull. I should have seen the Racontuers instead...

No trouble really. There was a cage fight last night that was pretty awesome, and lots of the usual fires and tent trashing, but nothing batshit insane. People were more interested in dancing last night than mass havoc. Silent disco was an adventure last night though.

Weird. Last year they uprooted a 20ft wooden pole and charged the rent-a-cops with it...and dug a pit on the path for them to fall in... hell, I was just taking pictures and one the buggers shoved me into a tent that had people still in it.

Muse are on in Manchester sometime in November if you can arsed with the journey.

How were Gogol Bordello? I imagine they'd be great live.
