Lambchop's new album

Is anyone else amused by the fact that Lambchop's new album is titled Damaged? It's a reference to a reference. Underground band steals an album title from the beatles, and now an indie band steals a title from an underground band. I'm giddy with excitement.

The Replacemenrts were ballsy by naming their album Let it Be, after the Bealtes. Now, Lambchop is naming thier album damaged, the same name as Black Flag's first album.

Anyway, Damaged refers to Kurt Wagner's mouth (ravaged by a cyst) and his personal life, not referring to Black Flag. I got a little too overambition in my music knowldge there.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Are you entirely certain they deliberately lifted the name of the album from Black Flag?  It's not that unusual a word.  A simple search of the Oracle shows several albums named Damaged, plus several more called Damage.  Are you sure it's not just that Lambchop weren't feeling particularly imaginative when it came time to name the album?

Sounds like shit to me. I mean did he actually come out and say "I'm referencing Black Flag"?

Also: wjhy would he reference Black Flag? I was certain Lambchop were off on a different spectrum entirely.

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

Guys, this isn't big news. Lambchop's already been down that "naming their new record after a classic record" raod, as they have an album called Thriller already. Great band, btw.
