The only thing Hank Williams 3 should be classified as is a shame to his grandfather's legacy...I feel wikipedia has tarnished the integrity of both cowpunk and punkabilly.

Anyway, in keeping with punkabilly, the silliest genre title is probably psychobilly.

Screamo is pretty terrible as a genre name, but there's so much music that gets lumped in that category that I love...Planes are awesome, by the way...

The worst offender when it comes to bastardization of the term "emo"* would have to be this: I have heard people refer to Circle Takes The Square as..."Extremo" WTF????

Some bands seem happy about this tag, which would bother me if I cared enough.

There's been a bit of abuse of the free prefix in avant-ish circles of late.
Free-Twee: Skronky freeform music with cute elements.
Free-Rock: Basically noise-rock with no structure, but no one can decide if the genre exists or not.
Free-Folk: The term kind of makes sense for a few bands out there, but it isn't really a proper genre.

I also heard someone say Free Black-Metal somewere, but luckily I forgot who they were speaking of.

I haven't heard of any of those free- genres. I always liked the idea of free-improv, but it's only the type of thing that should be attempted by extremely consummate musicians, I would imagine. I thought about starting a free-metal project once, but I can't imagine that I would be able to do it in a tasteful manner. Free-twee sounds like something I would never want to put my ears close to, but yet I do feel obliged to check it out for the factor of absurdity alone, if you care to drop any names.
