I'll definitely sign up.  Should I make a data CD, which can hold more songs but can't play on most players or macs, or a music CD?

Oh yeah, I live in PA.

No. Data CD bad.

Technically, you could. But if your mix needs to be THAT long then you've definitely got it wrong.

Doesn't seem to have arrived yet.  If it doesn't arrive over the next few days, could I convince you to upload the mix over the internet?

Anyway, I'm in for this.  I'm in Vancouver, Canada.

I am in on this and have organised to partner up with Verergoca (Vergo/Vergy)

I have yet to decide on a theme although 'awesome' has been suggested.

WE SHALL SEE!

I'm probably gonna ignore the season theme for this one and go with something based on my favourite thread in this forum for ages: flowing multi-genre playlists. Win.

I'm in. Current location is Iowa.

Amok, if interested in my idea and you're ok with sending stuff internationally, I'll bite.

my tentative theme is "ghosts" which I guess is a subset of Halloween.

I like a fair variety of genres, but I am a total whore for a catchy hook. On the other hand, I also love heartbreaking/creepy ballads.  I'm pretty sure 90% of the people participating could completely out-obscure me, but I'll do my best.

Slap me in a random spot.

By which I mean, place my name in the list of people for random mix mixings, not pick a random spot and slap me in it. Though that could be fun...

got my track list all sorted out. i broke it up into three cds by theme/genre/style or whatever.

disc 1- The "Popular" Bands/Early Fall

1. The Misfits - Halloween
2. AFI - Fall Children
3. Clutch - Binge and Purge
4. Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
5. Eddie Cochran - Twenty Flight Rock
6. Clutch - Pure Rock Fury
7. The Adolescents - Falling Out
8. In Flames - Hargalaten
9. Dead Milkmen - The Puking Song
10. Dramarama - Last Cigarette
11. Morphine - Buena
12. Operation Ivy - Gilligan's Island Theme Song
13. Green Day - Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?
14. Bad Brains - Sailin' On
15. AFI - Halloween

disc 2- The "Controversial" Bands/Late Fall

1. MC 900 Ft Jesus - While the City Sleeps
2. Pipe-Down - The Dark
3. Arch Enemy - Heart of Darkness
4. Aesop Rock - No Regrets
5. Children of Bodom - Bodom Beach Terror
6. Modey Lemon - Crows
7. Haiku D'Etat - Poetry Takeover
8. Circle Jerks - Anxious Boy
9. Modey Lemon - Ants In My Hands
10. Zao - The Rising End
11. Haiku D'Etat - Transitions and Eras
12. Matisyahu - Beat Box

disc 3- The "Chill" Songs/Winter

1. Chuck Berry - You Never Can Tell
2. GG Allin - unknown
3. Bob Dylan - One More Cup of Coffee
4. The Diversion - St. James Infirmary Blues
5. Buddy Holly - Last Kiss
6. Motorhead - Whorehouse Blues
7. Modey Lemon - Coffin Talk
8. The Reverend Horton Heat - Liquor, Beer, and Wine
9. The White Stripes - Lord, Send Me an Angel
10. Violent Femmes - Sweet Misery Blues
11. Dead Milkmen - Watching Scotty Die
12. The Tragically Hip - New Orleans Is Sinking
13. Matisyahu - Chop 'Em Down
14. Tiger Army - In The Orchard
15. Sonata Arctica - Last Drop Falls
16. Led Zeppelin - Tangerine
17. Bob Dylan - Hurricane
18. Nirvana - Marigold
19. The Diversion - Slow As I Can
20. Morphine - The Night
21. Primus - Mary the Ice Cube
22. Thrones - Django

disc 1 is labeled as 'popular' only because most of those bands are at least fairly well known. disc 2 is 'controversial' simply because i know rap and metal dont always go over well with everyone here so hopefully this gets to someone who can appreciate it all. disc 3 is labeled 'chill' because thats exactly what it is, all the songs on disc 3 are really chill songs.

I'd be totally up for trading with Miseratur if he'd be so obliged. It might take me a while to put something together though as I'll need to paint a new cover and I wouldn't mind fixing my turntable so I can bring my vinyl collection to bear.

You put "The Sound of Silence" on a mix for me? I love it already.

I don't think I will be nearly as punctual, but I am making progress!
I'm hoping to keep the theme pretty strict, but ghosts is really specific and not quite as popular a topic as breakup songs, so it is taking some time.

And the SprungMix 2006 is complete! I hope somebody else out there enjoys house and trance as much as I do...I changed the theme of the first disc because the track listing ticked me off. Neither disc has a theme anymore, it's just music that I happen to enjoy listening to when I'm doin' stuff...Here is the track listing I guess :

Sprungmix 2006 - Disc 1
1. Whatever! - Party Animals - 3:19
2. Somebody Told Me [Mylo Remix] - The Killers - 6:59
3. We Want Your Soul - Adam Freeland - 5:39
4. Walking Away - The Egg - 6:32
5. No More Conversations - Freeform Five - 2:42
6. Plastic Fantastic - Randy Katana - 7:16
7. Bilingual [Dirty Mix] - Jose Nunez - 6:39
8. Speed Racer [Porno Mix] - DJ Catastrophe - 5:46
9. Jumbo - Spiller - 5:01
10. Geht's Noch - Roman Flügel - 6:10
11. Trippy Shit - Infected Mushroom - 3:27
12. Never Say Never [Radio Edit] - Vandalism - 2:30

Sprungmix 2006 - Disc 2
1. Fire In Cairo [Digitalism Remix] - The Cure Vs. Digitalism - 5:48
2. Swimming Places [Pete Heller Main Mix] - Julien Jabre - 7:19
3. Little Star [Static Revenge Mix] - The Elegants - 4:22
4. Mr Brightside [DJ Strobe New Mix] - The Killers - 5:48
5. Strangest Things [Mandy Remix] - Freeform Five - 3:18
6. We Share Our Mother's Health - The Knife - 3:15
7. Frau [Boyz Noize Mix] - I-Robots - 5:05
8. Nazis - Mr. Oizo - 3:26
9. Galvanize - The Chemical Brothers - 6:04
10. The Night - Benny Benassi - 3:54
11. Painted Black [Syntone Cut] - Alex Fakey - 3:25
12. Gamma Goblins - Infected Mushroom - 7:22
13. Chantilly Lace [Angelmuse Remix] - Big Bopper - 3:02

So yeah...Um...I hope it's the right kind of thing...

yeah, if you were in alaska, it'd almost be easier to send it someone in canada, but you're not, so postage wouldn't be pretty.

i have decided to make a 2nd disc to go with the mellow one i made, though it won't be mellow at all, but actually quite silly and more upbeat. but i'm keeping the tracklists secret!

The mix is almost done! The theme is:

AUTUMN INTO WINTER

The tracklist is 100% confidential though! Surprises for whoever gets it!

Mmm CD1 is so done. It's umm... poppy to mellow and back again, a hobbits tale. It goes like so:

The Magnetic Fields - I Don't Really Love You Anymore
U.N.P.O.C. - I Don't Feel Too Steady On My Feet
Belle & Sebastian -  Me & The Major (live)
Saturday Looks Good To Me - Alcohol
East River Pipe - Where Does All the Money Go
Paul Westerberg - Crackle And Drag (Alt Version)
Elvis Costello - Running Out Of Angels [bonus]
Frank Black and The Catholics - Coastline
Bart Davenport - Bar-Code Trees
Whiskeytown - Jacksonville Skyline
José González - Broken Arrows
Handsome Family - The Forgotten Lake
The Beta Band - I Know
disco inferno - summer's last sound
Mr. Bungle - Sweet Charity
The Boy Least Likely To - I'm Glad I Hitched My Apple Wagon To Your Star

Now... CD2 the punk CD...it's not getting posted. It's the suprise for whoever gets it. Can't show all the cards, that's just not right.
Also the artwork isn't done.. but oh, it will be...it will be.

Oh oh oh.

I hope I'm not too late? The List hasn't been put up, sooo... sign me up.

Ideas are a bit nebulous at the moment, but I'm thinking something along the lines of the transition from summer to autumn, and the parallels that can be drawn with the changing of the seasons and the changing of lives.

Highbrow, huh? I warn people, my mix is less likely to have completely off the wall bizzaro unheard of stuff, but will be meticulously compiled.

Location is Bristol, UK.
