I'd totally have;

All my friends are dead-Turbonegro
followed by;
Everyone I love is dead-Type O Negative
and then;
Too dead for me-Atari Teenage Riot
and finally;
Dead-The Fanatics.

The audience would feel terrible by the end of it.

If it was going to be any Cradle of Filth, it would be Queen of Winter, Throned, and everyone would have to hold up candles during it.

People would only stay for the food after that.

I'd totally have Britney Spears' "Lucky" at my funeral. Followed by Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For", "Hollaback Girl", and, to top off the irony, "Cool".

After re-reading the Slayer thread, I was inspired to add the obvious:  Angel Of Death.

Here's a song i would want to be played on my funeral:

Bathory - The Ravens

"Steadily on jagged wings.
Feathers black against the burning sky.
Spread your wings and ride the wind.
Gaze down on me with blackest eyes.

Fly my Ravens, fly ahead.
Over the mountains and endless sky.
Fly my Ravens, over my head.
Let the wind carry you up high.

Fly my Ravens, it's time to fly.
And for me maybe to die.

Necrophilia by G.B.H.

duh.

"Make love to you your eyes are closed,
your body's rotting it's decomposed.
Your hair strangled in a spider's web ..
you're dead!

No remorse ..
screw the corpse.

Your clothes are in a state of decay,
just like you they're thrown away.
Your body's filled with larva flies,
why oh why did you have to die?

I come and see you every night,
unlike my girl you don't put up a fight.
I'm close to you, put flowers on your tomb ..
'cause I was born in your womb."

extra points if its your moms funeral.

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

I'm too tired to think right now, so I'll just mention the first song that popped into my head when I saw the title of this thread:

Green Day - Ha Ha, You're Dead

Might be back with more later, though.

Something along the lines of 'celebration' or 'dancin in the street'
But I'm partial to the classic pythonesque moment that 'always look on the bright side of life' would bring.
what about 'die alright' - the hives

First thoughts were Depeche Mode: Just Can't Get Enough and The Cure's Friday I'm In Love.

Rammstein's Mein Teil would be a great one though. Coffins have always seemed so phallic to me.

I went to a funeral once for a guy I knew. He was a little outside of the law (sold drugs), along with his brother-in-law, and like most non-redneck southern white guys who live a bit outside the law, they fancied 2pac in large amounts. However, this fellow's parents were pretty Christian, and so the funeral was in a church with lots of good Christian folk there. Nice funeral, etc. However, once the ceremony was over, his brother-in-law put on "Life Goes On" by 2pac. For those of you who don't know the song, it's one of his mellower songs, and it's about his fellow G's who had died. Well this goes over alright. Maybe some of the swear words made the Christian folks a bit uncomfortable, but it was a funeral, and that's what his brother-in-law wanted.

However.

The cd playing was 2pac's Greatest Hits album. On the first disc of this album, "Life Goes On", is the second to last track, the last track being "Hit Em Up". Soooooo. "Life Goes On" ends, and immediately afterwards 2pac comes out of the speakers, at a funeral, in a church filled with old white Christian folks: "That's why I fucked yo' bitch you fat muthafucka take money westside blah blah". Yyyyyeah. It was...."inappropriate". Kind of hilarious actually from an outside point of view though.

Damn, that's what I was gonna say.

How about 'Ernie, the fastest milkman in the west,' 'Get Your Hands Off My Woman, Motherfucker' by The Darkness, or 'Closer' by Nine Inch Nails.

I want one or more of the following:

Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings (theme from Platoon)

Pink Floyd - Shine On, You Crazy Diamond (out of interest, does anyone know if that was played at Syd's funeral)

Yes - Starship Trooper

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

Oasis - Fade In-Out

Dresden Dolls - Coin Operated Boy

Beach Boys - God Only Knows

Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently

That song from the South Park movie that wasn't on the soundtrack, from the part when Kenny was going to hell.

That, followed by the theme from Katamari Damacy (track 2 on the soundtrack if you have it).
