I went to a funeral once for a guy I knew. He was a little outside of the law (sold drugs), along with his brother-in-law, and like most non-redneck southern white guys who live a bit outside the law, they fancied 2pac in large amounts. However, this fellow's parents were pretty Christian, and so the funeral was in a church with lots of good Christian folk there. Nice funeral, etc. However, once the ceremony was over, his brother-in-law put on "Life Goes On" by 2pac. For those of you who don't know the song, it's one of his mellower songs, and it's about his fellow G's who had died. Well this goes over alright. Maybe some of the swear words made the Christian folks a bit uncomfortable, but it was a funeral, and that's what his brother-in-law wanted.
However.
The cd playing was 2pac's Greatest Hits album. On the first disc of this album, "Life Goes On", is the second to last track, the last track being "Hit Em Up". Soooooo. "Life Goes On" ends, and immediately afterwards 2pac comes out of the speakers, at a funeral, in a church filled with old white Christian folks: "That's why I fucked yo' bitch you fat muthafucka take money westside blah blah". Yyyyyeah. It was...."inappropriate". Kind of hilarious actually from an outside point of view though.
