Celtic Viking Music
« on: 08 Oct 2006, 13:24 »

I'm looking for some actual Viking-like music for Leif Erikson day tomorrow. Something with a feeling of rowing on a viking ship before pillaging maybe, something celtic though. No metal, I mean it. If anyone could help that would be awesome.

Perhaps you might enjoy the works of the band Ballydowse...they seemed to have some Celtic influence to them.

Don't quote me, I have no idea what I must say to find what I'm looking for. Nordic, celtic, same thing, right. No, they aren't, so I'm sorry. Viking music that isn't metal, maybe like a nordic chanty, I don't know.

Bump. I am no eunuch sir. Metal goes now. Throw your viking metal at me, no obnoxious screaming metal though as that doesn't constitute viking metal.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

You need to hear Morrigan Greatest Celtic Viking metal band I've heard. I

Morrigans  album "Celts" is exactly what you're looking for. It viking undeniably Celtic and it's pretty much one of the greatest peices of Quorthon\Bathory worship ever recorded and I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Because Bathory are a fucking awesome band.

Their other albums are great as well I especially like  "Enter the Sea of Flames" and "Plague Waste and Death. There's some Mp3's on their Distro's website: http://www.thebasar.org/English/bw.html (scroll down to Morrigan obviously), I reccomend the song "Beyond the Green Hills"
