I miss the days where, if Mtv wasn't going to show something music-related, it at least had some inherent intellectual value to it.  Not like now, where it's 23 hours of The Real World and then an hour of TRL every day.  And to think, I used to complain about Mtv back in the days when they were at least bold enough to air things like The Maxx and The Head.

dude, thank you for the maxx on youtube.

when i was a kid, i saw the show before i read the comics, didn't understand it at all, was almost angry that a cartoon could be so cool and i didn't GET it, but i watched it whenever i could. which was like twice. because even before it went completely into the crapper, mtv practiced the fine tradition of never showing the same cartoon in the same time slot twice.

sigh... it was my favorite show.

Come to think of it, back when that show was on, I was about 15 and dating my first girlfriend... one of the gifts she wanted the most from me in the massive stretch of two months was the McFarlane toys version of The Maxx action figure.  I thought that was so freaking awesome.

I never did find one for her, though... :(
