Disregard the above post. Tommy eats cock.

Pinkerton is a great album. I'd argue that there isn't a single low point on it.

I would easily say it's the best Weezer album. Also, there is a hidden ship in your album case! Unless you are a pirate, in which case I assume you already have a ship...

Besides underage weezer fans, it is also about not liking being a rock star. Or not liking ladies.

I've always preferred Blue, because I think 'No Other One' is a real dirge.

However, despite me preferring Blue overall - it's my favourite album - Pinkerton probably has my two favourite Weezer tracks, namely 'El Scorcho' because it's vintage Weezer and annoys the crap out of my mum ('you bring home the turkey and I'll bring home the bacon!') and 'The Good Life,' which is one of THE anthems of my life. The 'screw this crap, I've had it' makes my MSN name regularly when I'm pissed off.

no, no i'm kidding i love 'pinkerton'.

great drum sound on this album and it has 'tired of sex', which is easily the best weezer song.

It also rocks the fucking fuck out.

Ha, actaully she was eighteen and they never actually had sex. He just kinda wrote a creepy song about thinking about touching her... it's a good album I promise!.

Pinkerton is easily my favorite album of the '90s, and definately beats Blue in my opinion.  Though some of the individual songs aren't quite as strong as some off the first album, it just has an amazing overall feel.  All the pieces of the album work together beautifully, the songs just seem to flow.  The repeated lines amongst some songs certainly helps with that.  And ComfortEagle, Pinkerton definately gives me chills fairly frequently as well.

I have to say, I really wish I could hear the album Pinkerton was originally intended to be, Songs From The Black Hole.

That's because Rivers liked to keep the albums short and sharp. They didn't want people skipping over to their favourite track; and it worked for the most part.

Yeah, I'm sure Songs From The Black Hole were the songs that were demoed for Album 5, not Album 2...

I miss the old Weezer board. It was the most stupidly pretentious, over-analytical board ever, but I miss it.

The theory I've been running under is that Rivers went a touch mad from becoming popular, and in his spiteful rage he decided to release nothing but crap after Pinkerton. Well maybe he wasn't entirely focused on the crap plan for the green album, but he was fully committed to after it.
Now, even though he wanted to spite the music industry and prove that they can sell crap music, he still wanted to make good music, and Weezer still could make good music. So the second half of his plan, or the "not-full-of-crap" part of the plan was to write all this excellent music, record it, but never release it, save for some small, rare little demos. He then took his fortune from the rest of the music, and used that to secretly fund weezer fan sites and servers that would run popular peer to peer software sharing the music that was worth hearing, the music Weezer wanted to make, so that the fans would always be able to download and share the true meaning of love Weezer.

At least that's what I keep telling myself. That's the only way I can rationalise it anymore...

i don't think any of them made it onto the all mighty shit-fest that is 'make believe'.

"Hold Me" was the only one, I think.

I miss the old Weezer board. It was the most stupidly pretentious, over-analytical board ever, but I miss it.

I used to lurk around the "gear" or "equipment" or whatever the guitar/drum/bass related one was. *sigh*

There was a time where I could sing every lyric in that album, in order... great stuff.

"And how STUPID is it, for all I know you want me too... and maybe you just don't know what to do... maybe you're scared to say, 'I'm falling for you'"

One of my housemates last fall played acoustic guitar and sang around the house a lot.
By which I mean he played most of pinkerton often and wonderwall every once in a while.

People really need to pay a lot more attention to the fact that "Falling For You" is probably the greatest utilization of the power chord in the history of ever.

Now back to Pinkerton. Awesome album. I play it at work and by gum I gotta sing along.
