05 Sea Legs

Has anyone heard any live versions of these songs? I am really keen to know what sort if direction they are taking.

The only thing I can think of when I see that title is that awful Chumbawumba song.

I hope that's not the direction they're taking.

Are you suggesting the Shins have reorganized themselves into a communistic collective, that would be awesome.

I heard a live recording that sounded not too far off from their current material. I'm not sure how much of an indication that is though.

I've seen Chumbawamba playing an all-acoustic set live.

Surprisingly good.

I too have seen this. Khar is lying. Lying through his teeth. It's so embarrassing I was cringing for most of it, and even a guy who was playing a few dates with them thought they were horribly corny.

I think it'll sound exactly like the next logical progression that everybody should be expecting.
It'll be a continuation of Chutes Too Narrow but with more songs you can dance to.
It'll be nothing special, but will set the world on fire and be hailed by many as the return of...jesus or something important.

you can find two tracks here:

I'm not overly impressed, but not overly dissapointed. I remain hopefully optimistic about the rest of the album.

Judging only by the title, I'm going to assume the Shins' new album will be suitable music for a desperate masturbation session, followed by long hours of feeling dirty and ashamed.

So probably a bit like the Smiths.
