Personally (and it must be noted that I am pretty naive when it comes to music), I approve. There's lots of good music that I like in that list. Except I would move Deep Purple's Machine Head up a bit, at least until it was past Anthony Callea.

Radiohead didn't win. It's official, Australians have better taste than the British.

When I first saw the title, I thought it'd meant albums by Australian bands.

I think the only Australian album I own is by a band called Kisschasy. That and an AC/DC single on vinyl ("Let's Get It Up")

Motherfucking god damn Tool was placed above Blood on the Tracks. This list is therefore automatically wrong.

There are tons of strange choices on there (the overabundance of Tool and Silverchair, Wolfmother already being in the top 40), but like Khar said, at least Radiohead didn't win.

The thing that stuns me the most is Meatloaf cracking the top 10. I can't decide whether that's stupid or fucking awesome.

The Eagles made the list. I guess that means Baby Boomers are still relevant, right?

P.S. By totally non-arbitrary selection, I have to ask: Rumours better than Born To Run? Sorry, Australia. You lose.

That is the first of these lists i've seen that places Abbey Road above Sgt Peppers. Australia, you are mighty OK.

I am forming a new political group: "Men and Women of Science who do not get why IV is considered Zeppelins finest work"

Catchy acronymn coming later.

Also, I am pretty appalled that OK Computer is in the top 10, but I guess the fact that it didn't win should be a relief. This list does pretty much indicate that Australians probably smoke too much weed though, but I'm fine with that.

Wow... very few of the albums on this list suck. Obviously the order is fucked up (Coldplay will never be better then Dylan) but my country seems to like albums that do not suck. Good job!

I agree with everything directly above me, although I hate Mental as Anything, it was actually pretty surprising not to see them anywhere on that list.

The list wasn't as bad as I expected.  I was scared there for a moment when two Beatles albums were in the top five, and the White album hadn't been mentioned yet.  I don't have anything against the Beatles, but two albums in the top ten is enough.

And how on earth did Anthony Callea get anywhere near this list?  Unless my grandma voted under a thousand different aliases I don't really see how that is possible.

That said, I just enjoyed seeing two hours of Myf...

Yeah, I hear that the Beatles are the new Radiohead.

I am absolutely disgusted with Australia that Chisel is not in the Top Ten.

I'll agree with most of the list, except for the fact that (i will be murdered for saying this) Tool's 'Aenemia' was above 'Lataralus'.

Lataralus was a far superior album (in my humble opinion.

One thing that I don't understand is the hype around radiohead... why are they hailed as gods? just another band to me.

finding a pony to buy

seriously people this was done by vote and the people who voted on it were watching abc or listening to tripple j

which means we get rid of the majority of any pop listeners, that's why this list ended up being half decent

I didn't really expect to see Spiderbait. They were pretty successful around the time of Ivy and the Big Apples, but as much as I love them, they haven't really had a big enough impact to be on a list like this.

hah among my friends Triple J is as bad as mainstream radio, and you're a sell-out if you don't listen to FBi
as an American, i love that there's a station that plays actual decent music on the radio... 'man, they're really overplaying this Mountain Goats song' is a nice thing to say
seriously i love how this list isn't complete shit
also Radiohead are great but i can never listen to them long enough without being depressed to explain why

I strongly dislike about 80 percent of the music on JJJ and completely adore the other 20 percent.

It is kind of cruel, when you think about it.

but i don't usually listen to the radio

Ear for a decent hook? Ability to establish mood? Taut songwriting, even on longer, more meandering pieces? Great musicianship? Cohesive albums? Feel free to pick one.

Hey, not getting into radiohead as much as everyone accpects i'm into them is a personal failing, and i'm willing to be helped, just as i'll push a copy of 'Rain Dogs' on everyone who dosen't get Tom Waits
i've got all their albums... i just don't listen to them
