Who cares if this is the right place- it's cool!

Naw, it's artistic, DiY live furniture- it totally belongs here.

This stuff is almost ubiquitous where I live in the US Pacific Northwest. It's really cool to see all the myriad permutation of the common stool or chair. You can wander Saturday Markets and find stuff like this, and occassionally spot a still-living bench growing in someone's lawn.

I'd like to get some property one day and try to form my own furniture.

I agree, it's very cool!  My favorite part is that they take about five years to complete.  Imagine the conversations you can have with houseguests about that:

Hey, I like your stool.
-Oh, thanks, I GREW it.
WOW, how long did that take?
-About five years.
WOW!

This practice is called pleaching, and it is thousand of years old.

People are building structures out of plants this way.  It's pretty incredible.

That is fantastic! I will wait to do that when they come out w/ the instant kind though. Maybe the 'Just add water'. I'm not patient enough to wait 5 years for a piece of furnature. Though it is very unique looking.

I remember this extreme bondage site where they turned women willing to do it into furniture for a couple of hours...

oit's really well thought of... they have sketches, drawing plans, doctor consultings for weak back and other things...
