Ok, now im only HALF sure that this show even exists, so bear with me.  im looking for a show called Grim Tales.  it was hosted by Rik Mayall and had a chair with griffon claws and ostrige legs.  he told (grusome) brothers grim stories and they were stop motion animated.  if you have seen any, or better yet know where ican find some, hit me up

I think I've seen something like that at Wal*Mart... I looked on Amazon, but the only thing like that that popped up was on VHS, and wasn't available...  That's going to bother me, because I think I know what you're talking about, even though I've never watched it.

25 seconds flat with google gives us, from a Rik Mayall fansite:

GRIM TALES
TV, 1989 & 1991, #
Star

Fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm were presented by Rik on this show. Rik usually sat in an armchair, manically acting out each story with different voices and faces. Very odd puppets and animations were interspersed with Rik's story telling. Audio tape versions of the show were also released.

Episodes were:
? The Three Feathers The Spirit in the Bottle
? The Hare and the Hedgehog
? The Valiant Little Tailor
? Raspunzel
? The Fisherman the His Wife
? The Three Little Men in the Wood
? Hansel and Gretel
? Rumpelstiltskin
? The Twelve Huntsmen
? Sweet Porridge
? The Three Doctors
? The Bremen Town Musicians
? The Witch Among Thorns
? The Griffin
? The Frog Prince
? The Boots of Buffalo Leather
? The Gnome
? King Thrushbeard
? The Turnip
? The Little Peasant
? The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids
