It was kind of embarrassing to read the "hardcore rules" and realize how many of them I have been guilty of at one point or another...

I am guilty of getting pissed at all 50 about three years ago.

I should point out I found this via the wikipedia entry on headbanging that my fiancee just emailed me. I'm assuming that entry was written by the same sorts of people who post here, if not the same exact people.

Quote from: wiki article
There has always been some speculation about whether or not headbanging causes brain damage. Most metalheads will wake up the following day with a headache showing there has been some trauma to the brain. Repeated headbanging in one week can hurt increasingly more, with each time one does it. Whiplash or violent shaking of the head can cause brain damage, and some headbanging can go extremely violent..

Oh.

That.. That explains a lot.

I support the theory that headbanging causes brain damage. These are quotes from my latest study of a metal head who was forced to gradually headbang more and more often.

"That...guitar is proper....yeah man. Y'know?"
"Have you heard new Grab Death By the Bollocks? Proper good 'n shit because...guitars?"
"I bought the new Hate album with...uhm...m....m...mo...money?"
"I bought...Destroy...Box...shop...today...CD."
"Charlie fish trollop locked the sofa onto the weather earlier this morning yup yup I like floors."
"THEY'RE WATCHING! THEY'RE WATCHING! Hey man, how're...uhm...what was I saying?"
"Fuhmumble dorp bip bip bip"
"fuh fuh fuh water fuh? fuh gub gub"

The last time I saw him, he was going out every night and headbanging at 40 hbpm. Currently, all he does is drool in his wheelchair while staring into empty space, unless you play something like Maimed by Haters or Kill for Revenge, at which point he jumps up and continues to headbang.

Joe, that is fantastic. But I don't think the majority of metalheads would have an opinion on the Arch vs. Alder thing.

If people don't know the awesomeness of "Awaken the Guardian" and "the Spectre Within", they don't deserve to be called a metalhead.

Hey, I wasn't saying Fates Warning isn't awesome or anything, but I wouldn't expect any metalhead I met to have an opinion on them.

Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce.

Bruce has such a voice because he has fused pure power metal to his vocal chords. He is as a god.
