Stick Figures are my specialty*
« on: 09 Feb 2007, 00:37 »

*Read as "all I can draw."

Louis Sucks With Girls

Louis Sucks with Girls Part 2

Louis sucking with girls, but not being a stick figure.

Louis still sucking with girls and not being a stick figure

Yay for amazingly skinny people with misproportioned limbs!
And no I don't mean my stick figures.

Ha ha ha, very cute. I laughed at the first two.
Also your skinny people with misproportioned limbs are not bad! That is how I draw.

drawing from life might help if you want to change but your style is effective at translating emotion so I say go with your strengths.

Thanks, you guys.  I'm glad you liked them.  I should probably try drawing from life, but I tend to only draw during boring lectures (hence everything being on lined paper).  Thanks again for the feedback!

Viva la vie bohem!  I would have probably jumped up there and sang with him, but unfortuantely for Louis the people he goes to school with aren't as interested in musicals as he is, so she didn't even know waht he was diding.  Too bad he didn't happen to be on "Your Eyes."  He has a ratehr nice voice; maybe the girl would have been impressed instead of creeped out.

And thanks, Mr u Suk.  Ah, how many times have we been at a loss for words and recalled something that we had memorized years before in eight grade US history?  Well, I haven't very many times.  That's actually all I rmemeber of the preamble, at least, all I remembr in order.  The rest is kind of jumbled up.  And you say you used to draw like this?  Did you get better or did you stop drawing?

i got better, i could never stop drawing if i tried.

I was born into this world by 2 sign artists, by basement is a art studio, and my job is making signs. my fav thing to draw are album covers and then put them on my wall as posters. i have a poster of The Cult's Sonic Temple and Love, a drawing my friend made of the cover of Strong Bad Sings, and i have a (very awesome) painting of the Rolling Stones mouth logo.

im actually trying (for like the 3rd freaking time) to make a webcomic. i actually like how this one is going, all i need is a scanner and i'd show them.

Here are a couple more comics, these ones featuring another character of mine.  His name is Francisco.

I got lazy with that one.  Drew everything once and copied and pasted as necessary.  The other person is his roommate Garret.  He looks like a chick here, but he just has nasty hair.

Not much to say on this one.  Oh, right.  He actually never wears his hat sideways.  I just can't draw hats from the front.

Thanks.  I used to write one shots, but some things just work better in comic form.  I thank whoever invented stick figures for giving me the chance to draw out my ideas.  Maybe my non-stick figures are okay, but I'd never be able to draw them consistently over the course of a comic strip, plus it would take me so long I'd probably just give up after the first panel.

It says "shanked."  Paco likes to tell his room mates that back home he goes around shanking people.  (Yes, Paco is the real shank master, not me).  Jimmy's right, he's full of shit, but he mostly says things like that to try to get Garret to stop prying into his life.

Garret: *pries*
Paco: *obviously lies*
Garret: *leaves him alone*

Ooo a scanner.  Did you finally get it to work?

Two new strips.  I'll save the other one in case no one responds to this one and I need an excuse to bump the thread.

Wow, I totally know people like that. They're kind of obnoxious... Actually, my Floor-Stalker (as I will refer to her...) is rather like that, and it really just means that they don't have any friends... It's rather sad.

OHMIGOD, ME TOO!!!!!!
I feel bad that I don't particularly care for my Floor-Stalker, it's just...she's very clingy, and I don't think we have very much in common. I never feel like I have anything to say to her, but she always comes over to my room, and just..argh! The girl is addicted to Titanic, okay?! That movie was cool for like three months before everyone moved on --but no, she watches it like contstantly!

...Anyway...your comics...hitting close to home, lol.

There was a girl at the begining of the year who would come into my room and say hi.  I'd say hi back, then she'd just stand there.  I think she wanted to have a conversation, but was hoping I'd start one because she actually had nothing to say.  It was very awkward for me and I tended to just go back to whatever I was doing.

When I hang out with floor people it basically goes like this.

Floor people: *converse*
Me: *tries to contribute*
Floor: *pause* *resume conversing*
Me: *sits quietly*

Not fun.

New strip!

Hahaha! We actually did that in my Psychology class the other day --though I have seen it before. Those people are bastards!

--The girl that comes to my room does that too. I ususally keep doing what I'm doing until she finally leaves. Luckily I only converse with her (on the occasion she actually has something worthwhile to say), and one other girl on my floor whom I actually like, but is now ditching me on a regular basis to hang out with her boyfriend, thus leaving me to the likes of Jennifer. Argh.

...I like how Paco's hat is on sideways like Will Smith in Prince of Bel-Air. Random, I know.

We did that experiemnt in my psych class, too.  Now I have to write up a method section.  :x  I don't want to be a research psychologist!

although this is kinda random, this is a somewhat musical forum so it makes sense.

Every time i see Paco i start singing "Paco!" by Ladytron, its kinda freaky.

*ground floor lady's clothes sports wear stationary....hmm hm hm hm*

And on the Plus Side ShankMaster, i have (finally) got the Scanner to work, sadly my comp A Sploded last week and i lost all my hard drive, which included my Photoshop CS2 (and my music T_T, got most of it back) so they are going to be black/white and no speech

[Edit]

Hey i got it all to work right....odd. i expected more stuff to go wrong >_>

For the record this comic is like the 7th or something strip in the (FYI: most likely never going to see the light of day) webcomic ive been trying. i chose this one because it looked best. The male is Rand, A kid straight outta collage who loves music and is a bit of a nerd, the Female i have not named yet, i am totally open to suggestions for names. and the place they are in is Rand's Corner Coffee place (also unnamed) save the QC coffee house connections, ive had the idea for it for a while.

this was a one time thing because this has nothing to do with Stick Figures, but if anyone (for some reason) wants to see more ill create a thread for it.

As for names, for some reason I really love the name Marilee, but so far haven't managed to stick the name onto a major character.  Probably because of my lack of major female characters.... anyway, if I think of any more anmes I'll let you know.

That's because the speech that makes it funny hasn't been put in due to a lack of Photoshop.  I'm guessing he doesn't want to muck up his art by writing them in himself.  It can get pretty messy.

Although i like the name suggestion i would rather go with Marlee (i assume the name you just suggested is pronounced differently).

and ThePQ4, yes it's not funny yet. but thats something i need to work on. making sure its going to be funny. lord knows its easy enough in real life but im actually havong a hard time writing something funny  :|

*note* im creating another strip, when its done ill post it on a thread and we can discuss there, im invading Shankmaster's thread with this crap

I made a fan comic :D I bought a graphire4 last year and haven't used it for much, so eh. I wanted to try Jeph's style as shown in his FAQ thingamabob, so I thought, two birds with one ... cooking pot, right? Figured it'd be slightly ironic, since this is a stick figure comic on QC's forum (a shibby stick figure comic though) and doing the fancomic somewhat in QC's style would be... yeah.

edit: linking instead since I suddenly read the forum guidelines.

I dunno if I captured their voices right, or facial expressions. Or even their hair and eye colors. Or Paco's hat. But that scraggly hair shouted blond to me. I dunno, hope you're not offended.

edit: i just read more things in the I'm new place, and now I'm jittery. I hope no one hates me now :/ But um, this is sort of a semi-subfandomthing... no? :/ Hi. *hides*

Chickens are awesome. My parent's have never gotten around to buying me any though :( We don't really have a good place for them, plus we've got a few vicious cats that wouldn't think twice about taking down a chicken... Silkies are my favorite!

I'm sorry i took so long to respond.  I've been ahving assloads of computer problems.

But Oh My God.

I think I may cry.

I am so flattered.

Stick figures!  And you!  Wow.  Just, wow.

Yes, Garret is blond.  Good call.  Paco's hair is right, too.  His hat should be red, though.  And Garret's eyes are brown.  But wow, thank you so much.  I think you just made my life.

By the way, I don't know why I dind't think of this before, but if you guys are interested in learning more about Paco and co (more than I can draw) you can check out my lj community Four Fresh Prompts.  It's a general prompt community and you're all free to join and post your work if you want.  You can click around, but if you want to go straight to the Paco stuff, click the little heart towards the top of the page then click the link that says "Van Leeuwenhoek University."  Warning: Not everything is as light-hearted as the strips here.

-I thought you said you put the "tennis" in "Tennessee!"
