This is the drawing forum, right?
« on: 29 May 2007, 17:06 »

I'm thinking of drawing at least one drawing every single day. Drawing helps me not stress, and generally makes me a better person. I don't really plan on doing a series, or like an ongoing story, but there are some themes that will probably repeat themselves, because I like to draw certain things a lot. Anyway, this is a thread for people to just post their random drawings. So post away!

Here's what I've done so far today. It's darker in real life. I shaded the whole octopus, but it doesn't really show up in the picture.

I need to invest in a scanner.*

*I did "invest" in a scanner!

The scanner screwed up the colours, but I couldn't g et it looking any less contrasty. Maybe taking a photo would have been better.

I forgot to post to you last night. I like your drawing, it's pretty cool. I think the contrast is nice, I mean it doesn't look bad. I'll trade you my camera, for your scanner.

Here's what I did today. This is pretty much finished. It's a postcard for my friend.

Once again, sorry for the extremely poor quality picture.

Like I said, it's pretty much finished. I'm trying to decide if I want to put anything else in the picture.

Wooooooo hooo!!! I found a scanner today! Excitedness all around!

However, due to complete and utter lack of ideas, I've drawn maybe three things since my last post in this thread. Ugh. I can find two, and neither are finished. But it won't take long to finish them up enough to post them.

I'm also putting new scanner pics for my previous two.

ETA: Ok, I've scanned some more drawings.

This one is what inspired the postcard for the friend. It was drawn a few weeks prior, on a somewhat drunken night.

The image of the dead fish is on the back of the top drawing. The whole image is rather small. I use it for a bookmark.

This is a somewhat comic thing. I used to draw a lot of these, and post them in my blog. Does anyone remember the day I was bitching about the dead mouse in my bathroom? Well, this is a drawing of that.

There's quite a few things I don't like with this drawing/comic-type thingy. I wasn't sure how to draw the inside of the toilet(third picture), so I didn't. I'm going to go back and re-draw that. Also, the floor in the hall, before the bathroom, is wooden. I couldn't get this right, and it was really frustrating. I don't know what I'm going to do to fix it.

Work drawings, whoo! The two on the right I went over with a black pen, while the one on the left is still just in pencil.

Continuing on with the draw everyday motif. And for some reason I drew a raver guy? And someone doing a handstand And tried to colour it in? I'm not so sure?

I had a hankering to draw a little today.  For some reason using nikko seemed like a good idea at the time.  It smells so good, but when you can taste it in your mouth things can get ugly

Its nothing too flash or whatever, but I felt like posting it anyway.

Whee!

I haven't done this for a while. The right eye is crooked (I do that too much. You'd think I learn! It's always the near eye, too.), the left is too big, and his nose should not be that pointy. But I like it, anyway. About an hour.

I illustrate and draw stuff for a lot of the stories I write.

From an Artemis Fowl fic I'm writing.

Andrea: "I don't like you"
Artemis: "I wish I could say that was a pity, but quite honestly, it isn't"

Two characters from the novel I'm working on, Lt. Shekunov and Jack Wickstrom. They're not terribly important characters, but I really liked how they came out in this sketch attempt.

I spent forever on this picture so I thought I would share it.  It's a take off of the Madonna/Whore complex, where the Madonna is a Whore, as opposed to it being two seperate entities.  Or something like that anyway.

I made a mix for a friend. Then I drew some pretty pictures for it, and then took silly pictures with them.

Thats the cover.

That is on the inside of the booklet. It's a letter apologizing for the shitty mix.

Well, people are a pain to draw properly because every one knows what people are supposed to look like.  I think they pretty much kick every one's ass.

I concur drawing helps you relax. I’ve got a not pad full of stuff I’ve do after work.

I’m only good at copying things, can’t draw from my imagination.

I drew a picture of my boyfriend and I.  The reference photo I used is like 2 years old because he hates having his photo taken so much, there is very little documentation of us together.  His hair is approximately 3 times that length now ^_^  but I like how it turned out so I thought I would share.

Thanks ^_^ When he came home today I showed him and he was convinced I had just modified the photo.  Oh he of little faith.

I am quite pleased with it though.  I am trying a new colouring thing lately. It seems to be working out well for me, even if everything does look a little blurry.  Adds effect?  Or something.

*edit*  I don't want to double post so, here is my new picture I did today, as a birthday present for one of my friends.  its a portrait of him and his girlfriend.  I am so proud, but quite over portraits now.
