John Woo is specifically involved in the making of Stranglehold, I can't say how much though.

Bioshock - For a revolution in AI!  Or so they're telling me.  not to mention its inspired by Ayn Rand's Atlast Shrugged and Objectivism, which while I don't agree with, give the game some literary/philosophical value.

Assassin's creed - Even though I don't own a PS3 or Xbox 360, this looks like an amazing game.  If the environment is half as usable and interactable as they claim it will be great.

Spore - ...If it ever comes out...I cry everytime they delay it.

Little Big Planet - looks fun and quirky, makes me want a PS3.  And the little guys are just SO DAMN ABORABLE.

From what I understand about BioShock, it's fairly clear that the designers don't agree with Ayn Rand either. It's more a philosophical setting than a specific agenda. You exist in this world heavily influenced by the ideas of Ayn Rand, but you have to make the decisions about which side you take and how you conduct yourself on your own.

Dear god, when this is released for the DS, my life will officially be over.

I very likely will be getting the Wii version at the very least to show my support for these types of games coming to the consoles, also because most of my friends have gotten sick of updating their PC's.

Regarding Bioshock and Objectivism, I think the game is basically skewering Ayn Rand.  When you make a society based on Objectivism, you get an underwater dystopia full of crazy mutants trying to kill you.  Them be some strong rhetoric.

Which I'm all for, because seriously, fuck Ayn Rand.

Figuratively, of course.

Lost Odyssey for the x-box 360

Seriously this game has Nobuo Uematsu working on the sound track and Hironobu Sakaguchi as the producer along with a great many other talents all being concentrated into this game it simply just has to be fantastic. It also may be my only reason to buy a 360 as of now.

That's the only reason you're looking to buy a 360?

Not a problem, I just thought there would've been more than one reason to get one by now.

Hmm, let me see...

- NWN II Mask of the Betrayer.
- Bioshock
- Medieval TW II: Kingdoms (in which they hopefully, finally will add multiplayer campaigns... They've been "considering" it since the Mongol Invasion)
- The Witcher (noir fantasy, mature themes, possibly tolerable system requirements as it uses a modified NWN 1 engine? I'm sold)
- Mass Effect (can you imagine that the people behind Bioware - Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk - almost became doctors instead?)
- Fallout 3

A fair bit it seems, and it's looking pretty good so far.

That...looks...beautiful.  I had completely forgotten about this game.  In the spirit of blowing everything up, I might get this game.

The Darkness looks really good.  One of my friends has it on his rent list on Blockbuster Online.  He said I could play it.  *joy*

The Darkness is pretty cheesy guys.  The main character is pretty ugly too.  The enemies are dim-witted, and the voice acting is mediocre.  It's still a great first person shooter however.  I liked it.

There are two games I'm anticipating before the end of the year. One of them is the expansion to Neverwinter Nights 2, entitled Mask of the Betrayer, and the other is Mass Effect.

MotB picks up the (pretty weak, I thought) story of NWN2 in the Rashemen region of the Forgotten Realms. That's the homeland of Minsc from Baldur's Gate 2. The developers have been name-dropping Planescape:Torment quite a bit, in reference to NPC depth and player choice, but I'm skeptical. Obsidian Entertainment, composed mostly of refugees from Black Isle, hasn't really challenged itself yet, instead opting for discarded Bioware sequels. I'm awaiting it just because solid western RPGs of any kind are hard to come by these days.

As for Mass Effect, I probably should be anticipating it more, but Jade Empire was a big letdown, and it seems like the quality of Bioware's product has been in gradual decline since Baldur's Gate 2 in regard to their characters and storylines (technically, there's been an even more severe drop in player choice since Baldur's Gate, up until Jade Empire, which felt like a JRPG) but I'm optimistic, and I like sci-fi, though I'm more of an Alien guy than an Aliens guy. For some reason what's been released so far really reminds me of Halo, and that's not encouraging.

Most of this list will not be surprises:

Spore
Falout 3
Half-Life 2: Orange Box (I'm loving the videos they release on Steam for the classes! Even if there's only 2...)
GTA IV
and the Warhammer 40K MMORPG/MMOFPS, once it gets past rumor and cojecture phase and into an actual product.
