You've got 4 months or so until the official release. If you know you love the band I say sit on your hands, otherwise you may well be over the album by the time it comes out.

why do you care if your excitement about the album coincides with its actual release?
I'm not sure I understand what the benefit is.

Because then you might not buy the album. And then the band gets no money. You may even be so burnt out on the songs that you don't see the band when they tour in support of the album. So the band still gets no money. And these people need to eat.

Yes, completely agreed. Last year I refused the Swan Lake leak, and it was completely worth it, just for that moment, lying on my bed with headphones on, when the music first hits the ears, crystal clear and gorgeous.

Sam, for as much as you like the band, I'm going to say wait. That way you get the tangible joy of listening to the cd, and flipping through the booklet at the same time. IMO, it makes for a much more rewarding musical experience...

There are multiple threads about it, so it's definitely old news that the new Spoon leaked....but if folk want, I'll do a sendspace of it later.

I am usually super impatient for new albums and download leaks as soon as they come available....but I'm waiting for Challengers. I really am. Somebody slap me or something if I don't wait for it. I WILL NOT SUCCUMB.

Sorry, not meaning to put you off, I just don't like the kind of music she does at all. (Then again, I don't like anything posted in this thread so far, including the other one I uploaded.) If you're hanging out to hear it, I'm guessing you'll like it. It has a song called Paris Is Burning on it, so I guess the album's similar. I'll edit my post above when it's done.

Stars!! I don't know if most people have this but I just found it today. Listening to it as I type this. So far it's really good. Really nice instrumental opener and after that typical Stars music. Which is, of course, a very good thing. Plus Milan sings on it more than probably all the previous releases which is very nice. Probably not as good as 'Set Yourself on Fire' but very good from this first listen.

I agree with your review. Good to hear Millan sing more, nice instrumentation, overall very nice ... but I don't find it quite as engaging as Set Yourself on Fire.

Alas, my curiosity got the better of me and I checked out the new Go! team. Some pretty good stuff, Titanic Vandalism and Flashlight fight are the ones that caught my attention. Chuck D rapping over a harmonica might just be the best thing ever. I'll definitely pick it up once it goes legit, but I dunno if it can match up to their first album.
