Midsumemr Night's Dream with Rupert Everett. He was amazing! butnthe rest of it was bollocks. Even Bernard Hill was rubbish. and Calista Flockhart? Awful.

Awful Awful Awful Awful Awful Awful Awful Awful Awful!

Awful!

I recently read Everett's autobiography and it was one of the most amazing books I'd read in years. My question is thus:

what is the most amazing book you've ever read?

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. It really showed Germans as human, rather than the faceless, emotionless enemy various pieces of media and literature of the time had showed them. It was very touching, and moved me.

You people suck at playing games. Seriously, now.

Corn nuts. Corn nuts are weird. I chipped my tooth on one when I was little. I haven't had one since.

Why do QC forumites have such trouble grasping the concept of answering the previous question, and then asking a new question?

question: does anyone know where i can buy tim tams in the US?

I take my games seriously. *coughs*

Anyway, I have seen them at my local little store that has food and candies and such from Canada, Australia, India, and the UK (they have Irn Bru, Bisto, and Mackintosh, for example). Those stores rarely have a website, so they're impossible to find unless you go into one or talk to folks in your area (I found mine because my Scottish friend's dad had to make a weekly run there to get his fixes... our's doesn't stock chocolate in the summer months (if there's any, it's more expensive), though, because foreign chocolate doesn't have wax in it, so it melts more easily. Other than that, I'd try ebay... I know, that one's in Canada, but it's the best I could do on short notice.

If you were going to move anywhere based solely on their food, where would you move?

Wax?? And the Europeans claim that British chocolate isn't real chocolate!! American chocolate would probably kill them!

There was a while there were Nestle was trying to change the definition chocolate here in the US so that it didn't actually have to contain cocoa.

Consumer outrage lead to the government shooting that idea down.

Yeah, Mackintosh. Commercials encourage you to "give your Mack a smack!" The toffee is inside plastic wrap inside little cardboard boxes about the size of a deck of cards, and about half an inch thick. You slam them flat on a hard surface, and it breaks it up into pieces. It's fun.

Yeah... wax is pretty common. They use other weird things too, though, and they hide the names well. Have you ever seen a hershey's chocolate bar that has melted and re-hardened? It looks funky and tastes different. Now, have you ever seen other chocolate that's melted and re-hardened (like Dove chocolates)? It looks like chocolate... it's just in a different shape. Also, it tastes the same.

Neither. I sit at home and eat chocolate and/or ice cream.... and plain double doubles from In-N-Out... I also read HP, play video games, and sleep a lot. If someone invites me out, I'll usually say no. If they insist, I'll go, and it will appear that everything is fine.

I have tried two types of Hershey's chocolate over the years, one brought back from America by my Dad (just a plain chocolate bar) and one I bought in a shop over here recently (white chocolate with oreo style cookie pieces) and I found both to be disgusting to the point of inedibilty. Utterly the worst chocolate I've ever tasted, probably one of the worst things I've ever tasted full stop.

I'm not hating on America though, I do like Oreos.

I dunno, I'm pretty careful with money. I bought some shoes, though I didn't really need new shoes and they were on sale... They were less than £20 and they are hawt though.

There are bees in my yard. I do not like bees in my front yard. Would you like some bees in your front yard?

Edit/note: These are not the bees that give you honey. They live in the ground and hunt you down if you get too close. Too close as in about 6-10 feet. Bastards.

Have there been replies to questions in this thread that you believed were completely fucking wrong and you wanted to write giant ranty posts explaining your point of view, but by the time you read the thread it was already past the time. What was the question?

My favorite lotion ever is Burts Bees Milk+Honey. It smells insanely amazing without being overpowering, makes my skin lovely and soft for a long time, and doesn't make my hands feel sticky. Plus the company has good business practices and uses natural/recycled ingredients/packaging.

Do you get really distressed when you see a brand you like carried by Walmart, because they've sold out to the devil, or really excited because now you can get it for hella cheap and easily?

I'm utterly indifferent. I mean, the idea of a brand name "selling out" is entirely contradictory. A band may be in it for the music or an actor may be all about the art form, but a brand name is just a brand name. It's out there to move product. If it were about anything else, it would be nameless. A brand name is about the most corporate thing one can adopt.

I don't see me sacrificing myself to save people, so it'd probably matter more the quality of the people than the quantity. If it was my family or something, then yeah, absolutely. random passers-by? not likely unless it hit like four digits. I mean, this is my LIFE we're talking about here! I only have one of those!

What do you like best, shoes or boots? For our purposes, anything that just covers the foot is a "shoe" and anything that goes above the ankle is a "boot". I realize that this makes hi-tops a boot, but who wears those anymore?

I don't wear high tops anymore. I prefer shoes. I find boots constricting at times. I guess I don't care for things on my ankles. (Except my winter boots, because they are looser, comfy, and hella warm.)

What's the best way to get a person to leave you alone? (Preferably in a not mean way.)

I don't really have a favorite muppet. I don't know. Maybe Kermit. Absolutely not Animal though. I hate that fucking song, and it is now stuck in my head. Thanks a lot.

I'm making meatloaf for dinner. I have three options for the sides: corn on the cob and mashed potatoes, green beans and mashed potatoes, or corn on the cob and green beans. To my the corn and potatoes is way too starchy, but both corn and mashed potatoes go very good with meatloaf. Whcih should I choose?

Also, what do you put on top of your meatloaf. We normally put ketchup on ours, but I've heard of some other toppings. A guy I dated put cream of mushroom soup on his, my best friend puts barbecue sauce on hers. What do you like on yours?

I always have corn and mashed potatoes with meatloaf, and that's the way I like it. I always take the corn off the cob, though, because I like having a bite of potatoes with corn and meatloaf all together. I like catsup with meatloaf, but I don't pour it on top, I just dip each bite in. I think it tastes better that way. It's good with worcestershire sauce poured on top (I stick it with a fork so that it sinks in better), and I also like it dipped in A-1 sauce.

Meatloaf is just good in general.

How do you like your toast? What kind of bread, what do you put on top of it, and such?

..so long as the word "cookie" is in your country's vocabulary, it's an okay place to be.

Those who forget the past may be doomed to repeat it, but those who refuse to learn from the past and move on are fucking idiots.

What is the most embarrassing story your parents/guardians tell about your childhood years?
