John From Cincinatti

Anyone else watching this show?  I've watched all the episodes up to this point and still have no idea what the show is supposed to be about.  There are a bunch of interesting characters wandering around and some good sub-plots, but overall the show strikes me as a pretty piece of poetry; great imagery and use of language, but doesn't actually say anything.

i've heard about 50% qualified good reviews and 50% pure bad, so i plan to give it a chance as soon as i catch up with some other shows.

just... man, i hope david milch does not give up on the deadwood movies. that would break my little heart.

Oh, I think it's brilliant.  I do think they're going to have to bring the direction of the show to focus in the next 2-3 episodes, but I'm totally hooked to see what happens next.  I enjoy the fascinatingly surreal juxtaposed into a solid reality, particularly when it's well-done, which this is.  It reminds me of Twin Peaks in a lot of ways - not really the story or the characters or anything like that, just the under-tone of the show.  That, however, also makes me fear that no one else will like it and it will get yanked after one season.  That would be tragic (at least, as tragic as a TV show ending could be...sort of like Arrested Development ending...).

Okay so I watched 2 episodes and really liked it, but I don't have TV here. Where can I watch this online. No torrenting since it's not my computer.

This thread made me download it (torrent, so no help to Kieffer/Dirk Hopeless/whatever you want to be called by people who don't know you but have caught your name) and check it out, seeing as there's no way it'll be shown on Norwegian television any time soon (atleast not on channels I have access to), and I'm about to start episode 6.. Looks really good so far, but at the same time, there's something..odd about it. And that makes it even more intriguing, so I have to keep watching. I'm not sure why I like it or if I even like it that much, but I think I do.

Cincinnati. If you spell it right, maybe I'll watch it.
