I've come to realize recently that I own very little trance/techno, despite liking most samples I hear occasionally around the workplace.

What I've heard is pretty limited, almost exclusively to this rather young FrootLoops kid, so I recognize that my taste in trance might be utter crap. I'd like to change that, and if anyone has a place to start, I'd appreciate it.

I can only really recommend gothy stuff that isn't really trance, but you could still do a lot worse than to check out artists like (Youtube samples ahoy!):

Covenant
Icon of Coil (Vocals really poor quality)

...and no one else relevant really has much on youtube...ah well.

SynSUN is the only artist that immediately jumped out at me, but I've only had about an hour to sift through music and I'll be sure to give them all another couple of listens-through. Thanks, compadres.

4 strings are pretty good. 

i like trance and techno, but i don't really know what i'm listening to at the time, so i don't have any other recommendations ... usually i'm the one dancing like a fool.
