People, I beseech thee...
« on: 13 Jul 2007, 16:28 »

...recommend me Faith No More. I've been meaning to get into them and Mr. Bungle, but I am aware that Mr. Bungle are woefully inaccessible as a band and so I've decided to take the Faith No More root first. I think that the singer...Mike Patton? Is somewhat of a God on these forums, so everyone please put your wangs away before you spunk all over my thread.

Which album am I to start with? Having heard the stuff with the original vocalist, I really didn't like it. There is a Platinum Collection available, but I'd prefer to start with a studio album. I heard a song of theirs from the mid to late nineties that sounded pretty dark and heavy, better than 'Epic' (which I do like); which album do you recommend I start with? It seems like the ones that I'm to choose from are ending up as 'Angel Dust,' 'The Real Thing' and the Platinum Collection.

Allmusic recommends Angel Dust. I'm not sure if that helps.

I'm afraid that Allmusic gave Weezer's Green Album four and a half stars...

Angel Dust is looking like the horse to back. Anyone else want to weigh in?

You asshole. I just ate.
I guess I should have known better than to click any links in a thread where the topic is Courtney Love.
At least it wasn't one of the 'slippage' or 'upskirt' shots so prominent on the internet.

I'm putting out a request because I am a sadist. Courtney Love macros. GO.

King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime.

Just because I really don't like Angel Dust. And King is a pretty great album.

Mike Patton is more over-rated than Budweiser at a NASCAR rally.

i recommend you start with Introduce Yourself.

keep in mind that it came out in 1987 and you won't be too terribly disappointed.

I grew up on FNM. I'd say start with The Real Thing and then work your way through their discography chronologically.

My personal favorite is Kind for a Day.. Fool for a Life Time.

Right, having taken everyone's views into account, what I expected to happen has happened - the one I actually want to buy has emerged, namely Angel Dust. Thanks all!

P.S. Courtney Love is NOT the topic of this thread, Spinless. So shut up, ya bastard.

Faith No More is one of those bands from the 90s with a few really good singles but whose full albums aren't that good.

Isn't Introduce Yourself the one with their original singer? Because I specifically said I have no interest in that material.

As much as I appreciate that essay, I don't actually give a shit about any of it, although asking 'what the fuck' - admittedly rhetorically - may have been asking for it somewhat.

This thread could've been locked after about the fourth reply, or whenever it was that I said I was getting Angel Dust.
