For the record, I haven't actually played the game, I just know that they gave Judy Nails "jiggle physics." You'd think they could put that money towards some quality control.

I sucked it up and bought it last nice, GH2 Xplorer guitar and everything.

My guitar is defective. But I got 100% on Even Flow and School's Out my first try on medium. So I'm of mixed feelings.

The Devil Came Down to Georgia is INSANE! On medium it is kicking my ass. My friend couldn't beat it on hard, and he played Expert on GH2.

Seriously?

I had no trouble dealing with Lou. Slash kicked my ass a few times, but Lou seemed pretty tame.

Through the Fire and Flames is ****ing absurd, though.

I hate Raining Blood so much.

It's like noise with some notes thrown in.

Cliffs of Dover is fucking amazing though.

I can beat Through Fire and Flames on Hard, but I can't get past 1% on expert.

That is the general premise of Slayer in general.

So yeah.

Through the Fire and Flames is ****ing absurd, though.

How did you even get it?  I bought GHIII today and the song wasn't in the store.  Do you unlock it at some point in the game?

I can beat Through Fire and Flames on Hard, but I can't get past 1% on expert.

I've seen the opening riff; as a tip, keep your index finger held down on the green button the whole time and use your other three fingers to hit the other notes.

You unlock it by beating career mode. You play it during the credits, but aren't rewarded or anything based on how well you do, AFAIK.

I stuck my cock in line and got it at work before it sold out.

I took it home, then had one go at Jordan to say that I cleared GHII for personal satisfaction before I started on GH3.

As I did this, the graphics flashed and turned really blocky. I restarted the console, only this time I didn't get polygons. In fact, I didn't get anything. The video was completely shot.

It is now being repaired and will return to me in "up to 60 days".

Believe me, that's what I do, but my other fingers can't move fast enough. Or I haven't played it enough to know when to hit which button. I should try it a few more times.

I've almost 5-starred all of Medium now, only missing Knight of Cydonia (don't know why I can't do it) and Raining Blood (fuck Slayer). I'm over halfway through Hard now, too. Same Old Song and Dance is messing with me and I fear the Slash battle afterward, because Tom Morello kicked my ass over and over.

I still like GH1 the best, but 3 definitely has a better tracklist than 2 or 80s.

None of the songs were frustrating, but some of them were really hard.

Raining Blood was stupid hard, but now I beat it without any Star Power.

HELL YES.

I just five-starred all of Medium. Raining Blood took, like...15 tries, but I nailed that bitch. My left arm hurts so much now.

I also got to the Slash battle on Hard and was promptly thrashed.

So I was misguided in my arrogance.

Raining Blood and One on expert are hard as shit.  I am stuck.

Cliffs of Dover was hella tight, though.  I wish I'd heard this song before I played the game.

The problem with Guitar Hero is that I'm such an obsessive compulsive completionist about games I like. When I got it, I told myself I wasn't going to play Easy. I don't care about the achievements. I don't care about the guitars.

...

That lasted a week, I guess. Easy is painful as hell. Soooo sloooooowww.... But at least you get money in this one. Not too much, but enough that I've completed my Outfit/Styles collection and should end up with enough by the end of the career for a new character or a few guitars.

Heh, I'm the same way... I spiced it up this time by playing through mostly Lefty Flip for that acheivement, but when I was doing it in GH2 I actually 4 starred Freya when going through it because I dozed off in the middle. To be fair, I was really tired, but still, not supposed to fall asleep during Guitar Hero. :P

I finally 5-starred Hard last night, Knights of Cydonia is such a stupid song to 5 star. Now I need to bust through Medium for some more cash, and then I get to throw my head against Raining Blood Expert until I beat it.

I started playing Easy with only two fingers to make it more interesting and give me more practice moving my fingers around for Hard/Expert. Not too bad after that.

Alright, I hate to necro threads, but I have a question for you folks.

I bought the 360 Guitar Hero III bundle for my woman for Christmas. I intend to get Guitar Hero 2 as well and I was wondering if I should just get the Bundle for 2, or if the guitar for 3 is enough better thats it's worth the few extra bucks to get it separately.

Well, the GH3 guitar is better than the GH2 guitar, in my opinion (speaking from the 360 perspective). Wireless, and the feel of the fret buttons is better. Also, the GH2 Xplorer is oddly-shaped, and a lot of people find it uncomfortable to use sitting down.

GH III was just released here a couple of days ago!

Played it twice in two local game stores in just as many hours. hehe
It's so much better than II and a helluva lot harder or so I found.

After that I went round to a friend's house to play it on his ps3 with HDMI tv.
allll night   :-)

He'd bought the game soley for Through the Fire and the Flames and when we finally got there we started jumping around like kids.

They still never got the drummer physics right but everything else seems to be 100% improved.

I'm happy with it ^ ^

Guys I don't really care for GHIII as much. It feels like they've gone for trying to cram in as many notes as possible instead of making you feel like you're actually playing the song.

Long time waiting but Guitar Hero is simply better for solo or 2 player. Much cheaper too.

A friend's buying Rock Band when it's officially released over here; We have about 4 eager players all pretty seasoned from guitar hero who'll be up for that.

The vocal and drum elements for Rock Band giive a better multiplayer appeal to the game.

I'll let the thread die peacefuly now.
