Marten Scuplture in Progress
« on: 05 Aug 2007, 23:40 »

hello all,

I was in the middle of making a clay pintsize when I decided to go a completely different way. Here's my in progress figurine of the Marten we all know and love. He's made from super sculpey (actually the same clay I was making pintsize with). Still very rough and in progress, his arms are really wonky. I think it was most fun cross referencing various strips and trying to make that 3-d continuity.  Cant wait to finish him up and put some paint on him!

**UPDATE**

smoothed out all the details, ready for baking

with super sculpey, what helps, is to put it in the fridge, then smooth everything out UBER smooth. then bake.

but it looks good!

Awesome! You have fantastic modeling skills!
I think he needs a Pintsize to go with him. Else he will be lonely.

I think that he needs a 1970s Gibson SG guitar.  Other than that, he looks great.

Aww, it's so cute! You should eventually do the whole cast so you can act out little scenes with them. That would be fun.

That's awesome, I love how he's kinda slouchy like Marten is too. And I agree the nose and hair are total mastery.

Ohhh... I wish I had Supersculpey here to play! Price is prohibitive for me right now and Fimo is expensive too. I love the way your Marten is turning, very well done!

Wow, that's great!
I also love sculpey. I hadn't considered doing it all in flesh colour and then I assume painting it afterwards... what paint would you use?

I always thought super sculpy looked more like bubblegum, either way he looks delicious, though that's not really it's intent I suppose.

Looks great, you got talent
