Graffitti application in Facebook
« on: 14 Aug 2007, 22:58 »

I have found another thing to waste countless hours on the net with and its name is Facebook. Although i'm shure i could start a whole other thread on that alone i'm here to focus on the "graffitti" application. I'm wondering if any here have used it and what peoples impression was. Personally i like drawing stuff for friends on it. I don't like that there seems to be no way of saving the work ive done other then on facebook. Ideally i'd want to save it on my pc but also as a gif or jpg and then upload to webserver and share or post here and so on. Anyway ya so like discuss alreadly.

Couldn't you just take a screenshot?

You can do it as a screenshot, or I think you can right-click "Save as" and do it that way. Or for us Mac guys, ctrl-click "Save image to desktop" does the trick. I think it saves as a PNG file.

I did this one for a friend a few weeks ago:

How do you people do this kind of shit using MS=Paint-like tools?

I am impressed.

This has opacity control for one thing, unlike MS Paint. Additionally, since it's flash, has better zooming abilities than MS Paint. That being said, I didn't do anything that grand in comparison.

I'm a fan of Ghastly of Ghastly's Ghastly Comic and so my first bits of graffitti were on his profile.

One his most infamous creations: Freddie.

The latter's an inside joke to Ghastly fans who've been following his tours of Hamilton.

I've been mouse drawing everything.

Cool thanks guys. I didn't think of right-clicking them :-P Anyway here's some of what i've done
This is my wife driving that i did from a photo of ours

This is inspired by Kasuga "Osama" Ayamu of Azumanga Daioh created by Kiyohiko Azuma.

And finally this one. If it looks familiar thats because it was inspired by the photo that follows it.

My friend drew this for me on the tablet I got her for her birthday.

He's an original character of hers who I have something of a crush on.

I may or may not have squealed when I saw this.

As for my own graffiti drawings, you're better off not seeing them.

Ravenjade, the red works for you.

I know that a user's first post linking to an exe is really suspicious.. but don't worry. It's not malicious.

I made a program that analyzes a picture and then draws it on facebook graffiti for you. Should be pretty self-explanatory.

http://superjoe.hopto.org/temp/GraffitiDrawer.exe
Warning: Once you hit start, it will take over your mouse and literally draw for you. Press escape to quit during this.

It only does points but it's still pretty fun as an experiment. Sometime if I feel up to it, I may add in some programming for it to do strokes too.

...Looks a bit rubbish up close, but when you're on the main facebook page thingo and it's a bit smaller, it's ace :P

When did you do this?

If you did it recently, then it probably has the "replay feature" which is -oh-so-much-fun to watch.

Graffitti just make me mad because it takes about 4 hard years of drawing practice in photoshop right off my abilities.  I don't know how you people do it!  if I can't zoom I can't draw well.  I am so terrible with it!  I feel like I'm in highschool again with this picture!

It looks better. You just have to keep doing it. I mean, I don't think mine looked good until I started doing it a lot.

ETA: Right, so I haven't really been motivated enough lately to actually draw anything in graffitti, or otherwise. However, tonight I decided I'd draw something. I figured I'd test of continuous line in it. My lord did it suck.

But I think I like the picture ok. It's vaguely random since I had no idea what to draw. And yes, the flowers are floating in midair.
