Kate Bush
« on: 29 Sep 2005, 03:07 »

I was scrutinising the 'paper this morning . . . Well okay, this afternoon - anyway, I happened to notice that there's a new Kate Bush double-album coming out later this year, her first in over 10 years (I met some people a while ago who thought she was dead!).

Is anybody else strangely excited about this?  Does anybody else think that "Running Up That Hill" is one of the best singles ever??  (Tinjessla, I'm looking at you!)

Ooh, i've heard about this too and how she's not too keen on doing all of that promoting business due to her recluse-esque nature. I'm certainly curious about it.

I haven't heard Running Up That Hill but because of your claim for it being one of the best singles ever, i'm going to seek it out! Whilst simultaneously doing that dance she does in her 'Wuthering Heights' video.

That song on the Vice City soundtrack drove me nuts ("Wow"?), so I've kinda been turned off Kate Bush. But I've heard praise all over the map for Hounds of Love, so...I'll check out "Running up that Hill".

I tried listening to "The Kick Inside" but I just couldn't get into it. Her voice is… difficult to say the least.

I dig "Don't Give Up" with Peter Gabriel though.

Sorry about digging up the old thread, but since it features my favourite female vocalist...

I dig Kate Bush's music in a big way. While I'm ashamed to say that I don't have anything that she released after The Whole Story, I have all of her earlier albums apart from Lionheart (which, strangely, I haven't seen a single copy of). My favourite song of hers is Breathing, and listening to it makes me all emotional

This thread is so old that I was going to correct Harry by telling him that Bush released an album just a couple of years back called Aerial.

I think it's appropriate that she is 'asleep in the boner patch', so at least we know she's well.
This thread was before my time, so I feel out of place keeping it alive.

Am I a bad person for only being able to think of the Placebo cover of 'Running Up That Hill' when I try to remember what it sounds like? Actually, now that I think of it I'm not sure if this is the cover or the original.

Back on topic: yeah so this thread is old and stuff.

I love Kate Bush. Although to me her music has always sound a trifle too 80s. This is an album of new stuff and not just a compilation of older stuff? I would be very interesting in hearing it indeed.

I forgot to make a verb past tense. Sorry.
And how did I not read the thread? What am I missing? I'm confused.

EVERYONE CHILL OUT IN MY THREAD.

Here, have some videos for four seminal songs from Ms. Bush's classic album, Hounds of Love:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BZsXVf6INc

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFMqV2FfPNk (actually I think this song might be my favourite)

God-damn, what I wouldn't give to have been the male dancer in that first clip.
