Two of my friends, one just got a boxer puppy, the other a little orange tabby kitten.

I'll snap some photos ASAP.

I think I have a zoo...  Personally, I have two cats, one fish, one dog, and one ferret.  I used to have another fish, but he got eatted by Katrina (the other fish).  Michael has two cats.  I will post pictures of ALL of them!

Chiasm is a rescue kitty.  He's about 5 years old, very sweet and loving, and will let you hold him like a baby.  Two caveats to his awesomeness:  He eats (and poops) plastic, and pees when he's scared.  He has different colored eyes (heterochromia) and is named after the place in the brain where this defect(?) is thought to happen, the optic Chiasm.  I'm a neuro-nerd.

Chiasm and Jager.

Ludo is a Russian Blue, and I got him when he was 6 weeks old from some crazy lady in Melissa, TX who wanted to feed him to her German Sheppard.  He's named after a character in the Labyrinth, 'cause I'm a Bowie fan.  <3
When he was a baby:

Nowadays:

With Chiasm and my roommate:

Chiasm and Ludo:

Herbert is a chiuahua!  My friend's dog had babies and I got to keep one.

He thinks he's people.

He does NOT like the outfit I made him..outta a sock.  I think he looks like a gansta

Katrina in her wall-tank.  It was hard to clean, so I eventually put her back into a regular filtered tank, but she died a few money later.  I was pretty happy, because I don't really like fish.  I just got her because she was missing scales and they were going to throw her away.  I get her for 50% off.  I got another fish to be her friend, but she ate him.  His name was Mr. Pink.

She is named after the Hurricane.

My Jager Bomb!  She is the sweetest ferret ever, and since we got the dog, she's been more active and enjoyed her two story cat-attractant condo.
Jager on Justin's face.

Jager with Chiasm:

On the table:

Michael's cats:  Penelope is about 2 years old.  He got her from the ASCPA.  She's fat and two toned.  Boss is about a year old and we got him on our one year anniversary (AWWWW US!).  He's a bastard, but SOO cute.  And his name is actually Boss Nigga (like the TV show), but don't tell anyone who might get offended!

Baby boss:

Boss now.  He's HUGE:

Boss in drag.  Also not a fan of the sock costume I made for him.

Boss and Penelope (or Quenelope, as I call her).  She had just gotten spayed.

Melon Cheese (get it?!)

That took me an entire class to post.  AWESOME!

(Thread necromancy much?  Not that I'm complaining, but...)

Cute zoo!  Just, uh, make sure all your fences are at least at recommended height--those are some pretty ferocious-looking felines.

This is the dog of the family I was living with in Italy.  His name's Miele, which means "honey" and also happens to be the name of the largest appliance manufacturing company in the region.  He smelled awful, all the time (but he was pretty cute).

What all puppys aspire to be. Featured in the daily puppy.

Also runs with scissors your horses star is by far the most awesome thing I have ever seen on a horse. Apart from this one drawing I did as a kid with Optimus Prime jousting with Broly. My mum might still have that picture somewhere.

These are my two cats:

Nugget:

and Sandia:

And my dog, Harley:

And may I just say that we also have 17 dwarf hamsters.  This is a result of one word: oops.  These are just three of them, Starsky, Hutch, and Huggie Bear.  (Most of them are named by theme, just so we know who is in what cage.  We also have The Beatles, and the Golden Girls, among the themes.)

I also have a blue male betta named the Romanceteer.  He hangs out at school with me.  He's traveled cross-country in a cooler.  Swell dude.

Cipher again.

Cassie at four weeks, her mom, Mari, and her sister, Callie.

Also, Scout the horse, many goats, and Mama, who's a great pyrenees. They're huge dogs.

This is my weird little dog, Montague. He's a (hairless) Chinese Crested dog, and he's about 1 1/2 years old now.

This is him when he was about 8 weeks old--the first picture I saw of him. I'm pretty sure it was the Rod Stewart/Andy Warhol/Albert Einstein hairdo that did it for me.

And this is him about a year ago, trying to decide if my stepsister's camera is a good thing to eat.

And this is me and Monty posing for a photo. My grandparents demand at least 2 of these photoshoots every year. At least they're too far away to pinch my cheeks now.

This is Monty's new little brother, Spencer, a Skye terrier.

Excuse me miss, it may not be prudent, but...I believe you should be informed that your dog has a mullet. Why does your dog have a mullet?

See? Canine mullet. I would appreciate knowing how this happened.

Edit: Seriously, I have to go to bed now and I don't have an answer yet. It's a dog...a dog with a mullet. Can someone explain to me how this slight against all that is good and pure happened?

Yeah, common breed trait I guess. Most Chinese Cresteds tend to have mullets for the first few months of their lives. Don't worry though, Monty's party in the back has now extended to the front, so he looks like an unwashed but mulletless rock star of some sort now.

None of my cats sleep on my bed anymore. I think this is because I tend to hug with anything on hand (usually a spare pillow, but you can see a fat cat in place of this) and I think they just got fed up with being trapped in a bear hug all night.

Yes, it took a long time to wean me off of stuffed animals, and no, I'm not ashamed of it in the slightest.

I always wondered if it would be cruel to get a fat rescue cat and give it all the food it wanted just so they would be awesome for hugs. The cat would be happy, but unhealthy so... I think I will just get a normal cat and feed it normally.

Well, my cat is also a tomcat. Meaning even if he wasn't fat, he'd still be effing huge. We've also been monitoring his diet, but he just won't loose weight. But he's 12 years old and possibly has arthritis, so he's not very active anymore, which he definitely was when he wasn't fat and old.

But he is still awesome for cuddles, so it's ok!

Could be either that or a British shorthair (aka british blue) mix. My aunt used to breed them 'cuz they have such soft plush fur, like a grumpy stuffed animal; she had to stop though 'cuz they're a touch rare in the US and didn't want to interbreed or go through the expense of traveling all over hell. Russian blues tend to have narrower faces and big ears relative to their heads, whereas British shorthairs are comparatively big cats with really round heads. Of course, since it's a shelter kitty who knows what's in there muddying the waters? It certainly doesn't look quite like either breed, so he probably is a bit of a mutt, but who cares? It's not like pure breds are more fun anyway.

melanie with our bird, kulapo (music geek points for anyone who guesses the origin of the name)

we got kulapo when we lived in downtown oakland in the 4th floor of an office building convered to a live/work space - a good 10 blocks from residential houses in any direction.  He flew up over the 6th floor down a light well, and hung out on our living room window on easter day, it was raining heavily too, he's a bad-ass. A couple years later i met a bird enthusiast who worked in the building next door, who saw him haning around all week before easter and triedto coax him down with treats, small and strange world.

my old old puppy, amy
