I'm not sure I've seen a post of his in which he wasn't being an asshole to some degree.  I guess I appreciate that he's another passionate dude trying to spice up the music forums, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

It's not really about being an arsehole. Obviously most of the posts I've been making in this thread aren't entirely serious, but going "Ok so maybe you want some hard rocking music, maybe not it's your choice really" just isn't a good way to do a thread. In basically every other thread (excepting that Conor Oberst one) I've been a pretty reasonable chap methinks. Nothing wrong with being passionate about what you like and dislike.

Please, PLEASE can we have some more of this whole musical elitism thing you've got going on? Pretty please?

Also, I fail to see what's wrong with elitism. I have pretty eclectic tastes (post-rock to metal to to jazz and whatever) but that doesn't mean I can't be discriminating. And considering that most people here (not all, but Most)  seem to be of the whole "JUST LISTEN TO IT WITH AN OPEN MIND KTHX" persuasion, someone's got to balance it out. That someone is me,
