This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, certainly the most beautifully realized animation. This seems like the fulfillment of a whole style of anime movies; visual elements from Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis, Spirited Away - pretty much the dominant trends in modern Japanese animation - reach a peak with this movie. The experience is nothing short of amazing. Amazing, I tell you.

What's more, the rest of it is solid, too. Plot and characters are satisfying at the least and absolutely memorable at the best points. The soundtrack is spectacular. There is really no excuse not to see this movie if (and when) it is available. It's really a masterpiece. Fucking brilliant
