RIP

I recommend reading the selected William B. Swygart writing. When he's on form he's great, and he doesn't write too much these days. The old Dom Passantino was fun to read too, I loved the piece on Sixpence None The Richer's 'Kiss Me'. He's an odd, odd man.

Their article on metal on that page seems to chime with that annoying attitude that the only 'cool' (not quite the right word) way to like heavy metal is to only listen to obscure jazz-based and post-BM stuff. I think they should have done an actual retrospective of decent metal albums. Their article on goth, on the other hand, is really, really good. Better than some books I've read on the subject in that it actually mentions Alien Sex Fiend and the Virgin Prunes.

This is all I can really judge them on, they don't really seem to be reading from the same hymn sheet as me otherwise. I think I may have come across the odd review or article browsing the web, but I can't recall any content.

So, well, goodbye then, ezine I do not really care that much about.

I never liked Stylus anyway.  They were way too arbitrary and often hated albums for not having pop hookiness.  (Or for having it.)

That's due to having a variety of writers with their own opinions that weren't editorially enforced. The notion is rather refreshing.
