I think I rode up too high on the pedal during YYZ.

Since the hinge area is the only unreinforced place on the pedal, it's where it's going to break when it does break.

here's my plan for a replacement

I'm going to construct an electronic drum pad, and attach it upright to a base and install the double pedal off my regular drum kit for it /nod.

I'll finally be able to play Twilight of the Thunder God by Amon Amarth!

And of course Rock Band 2 came in 10 minutes before leaving for work so I only really got a chacne to tear the box apart and leave the drum pieces all over the counch so I can put it all togethor after work.

Don't they make electronic triggers specifically for bass pedals?

I bought the $30 replacement pedal they sell at Best Buy. It's actually not bad. It's a pull-spring design, rather than a push-spring like the stock pedal, so it's more responsive.

I lent my kit to a friend for a week and he broke the stock pedal. To repay me, he got me this 3rd-party pedal that is a little smaller and sticks up at a more extreme angle to your ankle.
As such, the hinge of the pedal isn't strained nearly as much and therefore doesn't break. When the actual pedal itself broke in half, I just bolted some siding onto either end of the pedal and now it has been transformed to some sort of epic indestructible monster pedal. Now if only I could keep up with Mike Portnoy's ridiculous bass beatz.

Outside of Panic Attack and Constant Motion, no.

Though if they did, I would buy it. I would want Forsaken and As I am. Love those songs.

The Beatles Rock Band is something I think I can live without. I don't hate the Beatles, but I'd much rather just have straight DLC.

I don't know, RedOctane and Activision have gotten their shots at making "Band specific" rhythm games, and GH: Aerosmith was decent. I think that, based on all the headlines its been getting (And the fact that Harmonix confirmed they aren't releasing RB3 until Q1 2010 because they want to focus on Rb:Beatles) Harmonix might actually be trying to make this game stand out from everything else. It won't be another Track Pack like the AC/DC game.

I'm surprised how much overlap in the song choices there is between the Rock Band setlist and the GH:WT setlist.  That said, in terms of guitar anyhow, I find myself liking Rock Band more than GH:WT more and more as time goes on.  The songs only on WT are pretty awesome, but seeing how the note charts differ between RB and WTis kind of a turn-off, and I feel like the RB note charts are more correct (see: Everlong).

Plus the drums for WT took a lot of getting used to, not only because the notes look pretty different and all, but also because there's a much shorter grace period for note hits.

that and hitting or missing a note makes your rockmeter go way up or down, you can go from red to green in a measure and a half and god help you if you toss a stick, which is remarkably easy when you miss a cymbal and the stick gets caught underneath it.

Which is even more embarassing when you do it on a rock band kit without the cymbal attachments.  I don't know how I do it, but like one out of every five songs it happens that I somehow get a stick caught underneath a pad.

I got some of the tracks from Ten, Jeremy, Black, and Evenflow.

Evenflow seems harder to play on hard in RB than GH.....and that boggles my mind.

I'll consider picking up GH:WT when I can use my RB guitar on it. I hate the GH fret buttons.

If you're on a 360, the rock band guitar already works with WT, I use it for both.  I kinda like the GH guitar though, especially that slider in the middle of the neck.

I like the fret buttons on the RB controller, but hate the strum bar, and the opposite for the GH. The new one I hate, cause the slider bar is fucking pointless, as you can just finger tap on the regular buttons.

Oh, that's good. I suppose the drums work, too?

Now if they'd make the RB guitar work in the previous Guitar Heros I'd be able to get some achievements.
