Which Television album should I start with?
« on: 30 Nov 2007, 20:19 »

Title pretty much says it all.  I'm pretty interested in hearing their music, and I was wondering where to start.

Marquee Moon should give you a musical orgasm like no other. If it doesn't, there's something wrong with you.

Yeah, what everyone else has been saying.

Especially the track Marquee Moon.

Yeah, Marquee Moon is the only one you actually need to hear at all.  I mean, they only have three studio albums anyway.

The Blow-Up isn't that bad for a live album.

I've never been able to fathom why folks are so down on Adventure.  The 'switchblade guitar' solo on 'The Fire' is absolutely stunning, and 'The Dream's Dream' is gorgeous.

Just get both albums, man.

Man, I'm really resisting the urge to start the "Which Sex Pistols album should I start with?" thread.

Ah, but:

I was wondering where to start.

Surely you wouldn't suggest that somebody should start their Television experience with anything other than Marquee Moon?

I don't think you'd find anywhere on the internet that would recommend Adventure over Marquee Moon.

Get Marquee Moon.
