This book, by David Wong is an add on the side of the comic. If you haven't already, read it. It's amazing, and it makes you think that when you think something that you can't see is watching you.. it is.

I've been a fan of john dies for about two years now, and I bought the book in paperback and all that fun happyness. It's going to be a movie soon, very exciting. Read it, you must.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but nit's on my massive pile. what I have read is amazing. It's getting read right after I finish House Infernal by Edward Lee and Berserk by Tim Lebbon

I think my feelings for the writing quality of this "novel" can be summed up in this little gem of a passage:

"I sat heavily on the edge of the bed. Whose room was this? A voice from behind me said, “Are you going to get that?”

I fumbled around and found a button on the alarm. Jennifer Lopez was in the bed. And I mean the actress.

Oh, wait. No, she rolled over and it was just the local Jennifer Lopez. She got out of bed, in a tank top and underwear, and sleepily walked off to what I guess was a bathroom. She had a faint, white scar at the top of her thigh. She farted softly as she closed the door."

No, actually, a whole lot of people on the internet love the book.

Then again, a lot of people like 4chan, so clearly the internet's opinion is a bit borked.

I can understand why some people might like this "novel", but if you care to read some examples of a similar style done much better, feel free to send me a private message and I will clue you in.

I'm confused over whether you mean that's good or bad.

I read JD, and it was painful. It did have a couple of amusing points, but I think the only reason I read through was because it reminds me vaguely of Clive Barker. (sorry Clive)

I Just finished it about a minute ago and man, i don't see how anyone could not enjoy reading this. I mean, sure the authors writing style is casual and silly, but it's also darn clever. And the way he switches between horror and comedy so fluidly, I have never read a book that did that before. In the past couple hours I have rofl'ed as well as nearly pissed my pants in terror. Most entertainging thing I've read in a while.
