So sorry if this has been posted, but it gave me so much joy and pleasure, that anyone who hasn't seen it should.

First, it's okay if you aren't sure of this being posted before because you can't possibly search for this exact picture being posted, right?
Second, I think this thread would go better in the General Discussion forum, because that's about the comic. This forum is for more than QC, and in fact, QC really isn't discussed here.

It doesn't appear to be that bad of a "casting" job, but I do think it would get annoying if Ryan Reynolds is Steve. I still have mixed feelings about Jack Black as Pintsize as well, the voice just isn't fitting properly the way I imagine it - haha.

Dora has to be Tamsin GreigWho she?  A seriously talented Britsh comic actress who's been in 2 of the best Channel 4 shows, Black Books and Green Wing, amongst a myriad of other things.

For a while I almost believed Jeph was using her as a character model...

I think the only choice that really LOOKS the part would have to be whoever was cast as Raven on the poster.  God DAMN if that doesn't look like her.

Love the poster.  Question is, since everybody is picky about casting...

What would be your ideal cast (and crew, director and such) for a QC movie?

Not enough time to write one tonight.  I'll get one in over the weekend.

You would have to have Tim Burton as the director, as he is pure amazing
And also as Tim Burton always uses Johnny Depp (I'm not complaining mind) he could play Steve

Tim Burton, the king of funereal claymation?  Corpse Bride was a wholly unsatisfying experience.  Since no one dies/is dead/is an unholy abomination* in QC, I don't think Burton would be appropriate.

I think Kevin Smith would be an excellent director for this kind of movie.  He likes the story told as if you're there, with the same two shots, and I think that'd be a perfect way to film a QC movie.  Also, the humor is right up his alley.

Edit1: If you look at the poster, Sela Ward and Larry the Cable Guy were also cast.  I'm assuming Sela Ward is playing Veronica Vance, and Larry's playing Jimbo?

Edit2: The more I think about it, the more Winona Ryder would be a good Dora.

I definitely could see Kevin Smith doing this, but I think Edgar Wright would be interesting even though he usually does more high-concept films. Wrights seems to have perfected portraying the beta-male and is fearless with his humor.

Edit2: The more I think about it, the more Winona Ryder would be a good Dora.

Except for the fact that she's a bit too old.

I think it would be better to pick more from TV actors... They're less known (which allows people to concentrate on the character, not the actor) but still have proven they have the chops for their roles:

Marten: Lee Pace
Faye: Thora Birch
Dora: Amy Adams (I will defend this choice if necessary)
Raven: Allyson Hannigan (she would be able to pull of the comedic elements of Raven's character)
Hannelore: Anna Friel (I'm on a "Pushing Daisies" binge)
Steve: Bret Harrison
Voice of Pintsize: Morgan Freeman

I thought QC would better lend itself to an animated TV show than a movie, but I'll play along.

Pintsize:  Jason Alexander or Paul Christie
Marten:  Todd Field
Dora:  Zooey Deschanel
Faye:  Marla Sokoloff
Raven:  Lacey Chabert
Steve:  Seann William Scott

I too imagine Pintsize with a high pitch voice.  When I first tried to imagine his voice, it reminded me of Paul Christie from Stroker & Hoop (which reminded me of Jason Alexander).

I imagine Marten with a calm, soft voice.  So I chose him based on his apperance in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode "Ol Drippy".

Dora has a scratchy voice to me.  When you think scratchy voice, you think Zooey.

I was just depserate to cast Faye, I won't bother defending that.

I trust Lacey Chabert's ability to play a ditz.

To me, Steve is a fratboy.   Stifler is the ultimate fratboy.

I'm not quite sure what to do with Hannelore and I don't have a voice for Winslow.

I have to say, the only possible choices for Marten are Nicholas Brendan, Josh Jackson or Benjamin McKenzie. They've got that sweet, kinda puppydogish look about them. Most of the other actors out there look too mean and macho.

I love Thora Birch as Faye. She's perfect. The right degree of Chubbiness and uber-sexiness combined with the ability to be a total cow.

I'm really having trouble coming up with a Dora... I was kinda thinking Leslie Bibb or Carly Pope but I'm not sure which actress out there at the moment could pull off the Goth thing. Actually, now I've brought them up maybe Christopher Gorham could be Marten.

I like Jack Black as Pintsize, but what would anyone think of Eddy Izzard or Bill Bailey in that slot? They can both handle the humour but I'm not sure if they're crazy enough.

Steve - Jason Dohring. I think he could handle it.

Raven... How about Paris Hilton *Snerk*... Umm... Guys? Why are you waving those pitchforks? I must admit I have much more respect for her after that reply-to-McCain ad she did.

What if it was animated? (Not CGI, good old-fashioned 2D. Basically the comic as it is now but moving.) Honestly, I'd rather see animated-movie QC than actors-who-look-the-part-movie QC.

If it were animated, we'd want it to look like it does now.

It takes Jeph five days to draw five frames.  Animated films take 30 frames per second.  I don't know that I'd want to do that to Jeph.

If this were adapted into an animated form, a flash program would be the best way to test the waters to see if it translated well from panels the spoken word.
