Built to Spill- live... I think I'll go
« on: 02 Dec 2007, 21:41 »

Yeah the shows on the 29th, so just after christmas. I want to go, I don't know them that well though, I only have Keep It Like A Secret. What are they like live?

I've seen them a few times live and they were always fun.

Go to it.

If I was you, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

Yeah, go. They're really good live.

You might want to grab yourself another one of their albums, just to recognize a bit more of what they're playing. There's sure to be quite a bit from You in Reverse - at least, when I saw them a few months ago there was.

I really don't like You In Reverse.  I thought it was pretty boring.  I couldn't get into them for the longest time.  Then I heard their old stuff on Pandora on a Modest Mouse station.  I would go if they played stuff off of Keep It Like a Secret and There's Nothing Wrong With Love.

Yeah, agreed there. It has a few good songs, but nothing nearly as good as their earlier material.

Seems like that's been happening to all my favorite bands lately...

Last night some one woke me up at 3 in the morning wearing a scary clown face and threatening me with a round of naked sit ups.

I just bought my tickets, along with ones for the national. Really quite excited now.

Is this at the Corner in Melbourne? I looked at some Built To Spill on Youtube to try to get into them, but didn't find it engaging... anyone I know who likes them though (and there are a few) says they're fantastic live. Make sure you watch the supporting band, The Crayon Fields. They're a very different style but are totally lovable.

Yeah, it's the Corner show. I'll check the Crayon Fields out.
