This is different from favorite webcomic because this is just from the artistic standpoint. For example, I love QC but honestly thought it was a better comic overall before Jeph drew as well as he did.

Lately I'd have to go with Kukuburi, a side-project thingy from the guy who draws Butternut Squash. It's what my skull avatar is from. It's just very visually cool to me.

I enjoy Perry Bible Fellowship's simple people art style. I just think that it's very simple, but somehow intricate.

I dunno. I love it.

Dinosaur Comics!! Cyanide and Happiness!!

In all seriousness, though, I like the art for Scary Go Round.
(I think that the art for XKCD is, while hardly spectacular, absolutely essential for the analytical state of mind portrayed in it. A funny nerdy comic that can look like a free-body diagram.)

Better Days and of course Sam and Fuzzy both have pretty nice artwork; Sam and Fuzzy feels a little goofier a la JTHM based on the larger facial features and dramatic shading style, while Better Days is a logical continuation of art from the old 90s furry comics a la Sonic the Hedgehog and maybe Swat Kats. Of course, Naylor does some, errr... "funkier" stuff as well.

I am really not a fan of the artistic style of Stuff Sucks.

AppleGeeks wins in my book.

After reading Kukuburi, it has to be added. Thank you for the link. Amazing art work.
Not to be an ass kisser, but I really do like QC's current artistic style.
Also, The Non-Adventures of Wonderella is pretty great vector art. Super Clean.

I agree with 3 Panel Soul, which has some quite amazing art, but we're forgetting art by one Evan Dahm.
Riceboy has great art, in my opinion. I just love Riceboy, he's cute, and the way he's drawn is unforgettable.
Also, Dresden Codak has some pretty amazing art.

I'm quite fond of Wonderella's(http://www.webcomicsnation.com/justinpie/wonderella/series.php) style. It's so incredibly clean and consistent there hasn't been a strip where the art has detracted from the strip. Actually, Wonderella in general is just fantastic.

no one's said Achewood yet? I mean, who else can convey as much emotion in a cat wearing glasses, while still keeping the art so clean and simple? And some of the more involved storylines and backgrounds have some truly beautiful art, the Cartilage Head series being probably the best example of this.

Probably not. But I wouldn't read any comic, regardless of the artwork quality, if the storyline was horrible or nonexistant. I can go to an art gallery if I just want to see good art. I read a comic because of the storyline attached to it. "pretty shitty compared to other art" is a subjective term, I think achewood's art does an amazing job of conveying the humor of the storylines and the intimacy Onstad has with his characters.

That's a valid point. Sometimes, the style and LACK of quality in the art makes things all the funnier.

I know I wouldn't laugh at White Ninja as often as I do if it was drawn better. It's partially because of the absurd art that it's so funny.

I'd say Achewood's art is great only because of Chris Onstad's incredible ability to make silly faces and his ability to perfectly place his panels and what resides in them for maximum effect.

But I do love some Dr. McNinja.

Another favourite webcomic art style and good drawings are "Nothing Better".
It's pretty cool and the storylines are realistic and interesting

though xkcd is mostly just stick figures, some of the backgrounds and stuff are actually pretty cool looking.

i think the simplicity of achewood's art is part of its appeal. at first, i thought it sucked and that alone kept me from reading the comic. but it definitely is an aquired taste.

i'd have to second girl genius as well as stuff sucks, and put truck bearing kibble in the mix as well.

I really like the art of Riceboy. It just has me captivated. It might not just be the art style, but the amazing imagination put into every creature because even though they are surreal, abstract, asyndetone, somehow these creatures, or, characters make complete sense the way they are drawn. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that Evan Dahm does a great job with this little recognized comic.

I absolutely adore PvP's linework.

I think Sam and Fuzzy has fantastic art too, even though I enjoyed it more without the extremely intricate storyline. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the comic, but I absolutely loved the simple story of the cab driver and his demented bear creature sidekick.

However, my favorite webcomic art right now is tied between Butternutsquash and Least I Could Do. Ramon Perez is not only a brilliant artist but also just a cool guy. Lars Desouza has been one of my favorite webcomic artists since his earlier work with Ryan Sohmer. On the LICD's forums I would always protest that Lars should be working on Least I Could Do over the other artist's that had been through the comic's lifespan, and the day Lars took the helm made me just so happy.
