Have any of you guys gotten any good deals lately?

Well garage sale season is about mid-way through now and I got one hell of a score the other day.
 
A whole rubbermaid bin of Japanese PS and PS2 games plus a Japanese PS2!  Someguy went to Japan to study being a translator or something and left them all with his mother.  $200 price tag and I talked the mother down to $100.00!

I go to a lot of thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, and pawn shops to find deals on video games.  I hate buying stuff new.  This is probably the best deal I have gotten so far.

It's too bad almost none of these games are in English (Besides FF X International).  I don't know if the Japanese versions are worth much.  In any case I will be looking through them deciding what I want to keep and what I am going to sell.  In any case I made out pretty well with the PS2 itself and few games that can be played without knowing how to read Kanji.

 How much would you charge me for the first two Persona games? (I have 3). Also which games are in English?

I would have to double check on their condition (I think they are both mint).  I know there are people selling them on ebay for like $45 so I probably will sell them for $20 each.  But they are in Japanese NOT English.  Probably not playable at all but they might be collectible since they have all the inserts and stuff.

Send me a PM so I don't forget.

As far as I have found out so far only FF X International (Which I plan to keep) and the fighting games can be played in English.

Some of the other games might be playable with little or no Japanese language skills but I don't know which ones.

*edit*

Since these are Japanese games you have to have a Japanese PS2 or a modified PS2 to play them.  I am not selling the Japanese PS2.

Which Persona 2 game is it? If it's Innocent Sin, that game never came out in America and is pretty fucking rare. I guess implied gay relationships and Adolf Hitler were a little too much for late 90s SCEA.

We sell used ps2s for $90 a work. So yeah. $100 for a system and a bunch of games is a good deal.

$90 for a used PS2 is an outrage.  There are SO many PS2 systems out there, and seriously, its last gen, no one wants a used PS2 for that much.

They are $129.99 new.


Ps3s are relatively hard to find(around here anyway), and people tend to buy PS2s a lot.

We make sure all our ps2s work before taking them in, and do have a 90 day warranty, so it isn't so bad. Plus we can repair ps2s.

Regardless the PS2 I got at the garage sale was a Japanese region coded PS2.  It costs a bit to have them shipped to the US.

I am very happy with the deal I got and I am still going through the games trying to figure out what games I can play without knowing how to speak Japanese.

I am pretty sure that Final Fantasy X International is gonna be the only playable RPG.
