The Ultimate Handmade Items Online!
« on: 20 Aug 2008, 18:47 »

I was going to call it 'the ultimate handjob' but that was the name of the title on the Something Awful forums and yeah. Wasn't sure if it was toootally inappropriate or not. :P
So. Etsy! Have you heard of it? http://www.etsy.com . What weird or cool things have you found there? There's some Amazing stuff! And some very geeky things too. :P Basically it's an online shopping site but you can only sell/buy handmade items, vintage, or supplies for making handmade items. When you think handmade, don't think 'grannies making tissue box covers' like in the small town craft market.
Go explore, and bring back the weirdness or the brilliance! :D

Oh and yes I do sell things on there myself, but I did just think it'd be cool to go through and find the fun stuff! (and note, I'm not linking myself)

I bought this. I like their vintage stuff too, the handmade stuff is really great if you find something you like though.

Some of the favourite stuff I've found includes:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13824069
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13790073
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=13850622
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12915194

I'm thinking about making some things myself to sell on there.

I found these two while using StumbleUpon and would gladly have either for a Halloween costume.

Now now, pretending that you're lying about it won't take the shame away.

Because it's not made in a factory by machines or a sweatshop by little children?

I like it, but....

It's looks poorly made. Maybe it is just ill fitting. I'd totally wear one if it fit me well.

That jumper that someone linked, where the guy's smoking... I hope that's a test jumper, because I sure wouldn't want it to show up at my house all cigarette smokey!
