Intelligence test
« on: 26 Mar 2008, 21:18 »

The question is about raw brainpower, which of course is not the same as success in school.

Hannelore has the whole autistic savant thing going. Faye did well in school, according to Amanda (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=170). Raven has those flashes of insight that look like a brain peeking out from behind an airhead mask. Sven, we just learned, was another good student.

The AnthroPCs never seem to do anything really bright, though Pintsize's creativity is something to marvel at.

Aww, Marten is apparently dumb.

Marten's dumb because he uselessly pined for Faye for so long.  Dora's dumb for pining after marten while he was pining for Faye and for going crazy after she got him.  OBVIOUSLY they're not in the running.

Those are personality flaws. That has nothing to do with intelligence.

I'm not sure, but I'd go with Dora. She seems to know a lot.
However, I don't really care.

Marten is pretty verbal. You can vote for "Other" if you think Marten is the one.

I'm going with Sven. He was pretty damn intelligent to coast through school and college on straight A's, and to develop a means of getting cash without hardly working. On top of that, he's essentially able to read people and respond to girls in the ways neccesary so they'll do what they want.

Yeah, he's had slightly sociopathic tendencies, but dumb sociopaths don't tend to do so well. What he lacks in abundance is wisdom, which is something completely different

Among psychologists, there IS a controversy about which skills are considered to be part of the concept "Intelligence" and which are not. One simplified definition to solve that problem merely states that "Intelligence is the sum of abilities of an individual to successfully adapt to its environment". So by that definition... Sven wins easily.

Pintsize is obviously the smartest.

He's pretty low on the impulse-control scale though.

Gardner's notion of bodily-kinesthetic intelligence is the only valid one and all comparisons of intelligence eventually boil down to is WHO IS BETTER AT SPORTS.
