Good bands that use accordions(or other instruments you wouldn't expect in rock/pop/metal whatever it is you listen to)

I'm listening to Stolen Babies, a goth rock band that makes great use of everyone's favorite polka machine.
Also Gogol Bordello kicks a massive amount of ass with the Accordion.

Listen to the Fugitives. A good large portion of their songs feature accordian use.

The World/Inferno Friendship Society. Franz Nicolay lays down the accordion sickness in this band, as well as another band called Guignol.

Jason freaking Webley.
My god.

Going to my second Amanda Palmer show in as many months. This guy is the opener, he walks onstage with some weird mix of hobo and metalhead hair and an accordion.

I immediately think this is gonna suck.

He starts playing, and it's meh, nothing very interesting. Then he really started playing. The man turned into a pirate-tom-waits with a mic-ed floor for stomping on and a vocal roar that dominated the place. Great writer, great singer, great stage presence.

Then he and Amanda P played a bunch of stuff that was terribly fun and I bought all his CD's, which aren't as good, sadly, as his impassioned solo performance.

He makes me want to make music.

Refused, on 'Tannhauser/Derive' from The Shape of Punk to Come, was a surprise accordion to my ears. Also, 'Squeezebox' by the Who. Never in a million years would I think of an accordion on that tune!

Jason Webley is pretty good, but disappointingly he plays pretty much the same set every time. Did he "get everyone drunk", or play "Hey Ya" when you saw him? I saw him for the first time maybe four years ago ago, then maybe two years ago or more and was doing both of these things at both shows, let alone a few other gimmicky moves. Still, it's agreed that he is a solid accordionist, just a repetitive live show.

Les Tetes Raides are a great french group who have done spots with Yann Tiersen (who I would also recommend).

Devotchka has arguably the best accordionist in semi-mainstream rock/indie right now.

These guys are awesome, I saw them live a while back and they had a pretty ace song where they juxtaposed the themes of anal sex and a boxer dying in the ring.

Black metal with accordions. Mostly sung in a long-forgotten dialect.

The man is positively brilliant. The melodies and arrangements he can write are truly incredible.

He's not Gogol Bordello by any means. He's more folksy, American and Hungarian particularly, though not exclusively, with a healthy dosage of oldies Industrial and noise (a la Einsturzende Neubauten, Whitehouse and Kluster). He's not a happy-go-lucky listen, but it's some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. "Cold Little Knife" is my favorite song of his or anyones, and all his albums are worth having.

Sweek, one of my favorite bands, makes some superb "post-rock" and uses some badass accordion. I posted their second (and far superior) album in the mediafire thread a few pages back.

DAAU

Their first album, We Need New Animals, is sorta experimental gypsy-folk/classical. I think they did a collaboration with Ya Kid K on one of their later albums.
