GOLDENEYE GOLDENEYE GOLDENEYE

Nobody mentioned it probably because there have been plenty of James Bond games since, and also because there has been another Goldeneye. I think they called it Goldeneye: Rogue Agent or something? And Rare released a new FPS in Perfect Dark: Zero, if that's what you're looking for.

Frankly, GoldenEye wasn't all that awesome, except that it allowed four people to play an FPS on a console.  That feat has since been replicated and even improved upon.

None of the James bond games released since have really been comparable to Goldeneye. The original Perfect Dark was fantastic but the new one wasn't that great.

I agree that there probably are better FPS now but it would be excellent just for the nostalgia to revive the original Goldeneye and even the original Perfect Dark.

Ogre Battle Ogre Battle Ogre Battle Ogre Battle

Come on, Squeenix. You have the team, you have the rights, stop pumping out that Kingdom Hearts shit and give us a new Ogre Battle.

Ogre Battle's good. Then again, Kingdom Hearts is also good, and I think they might earn a wee bit more money on that one :P

2D Worms on non-portables. Seriously, the 3D was such a huge f-up.

And stuff that has been said before; Chrono series, Dungeon Keeper and Commander Keen.

I posted about it in the other thread, but Ristar. Again I'm not certain if a 3D update would be the best idea, but a revival with high-quality graphics and gameplay would be awesome.
Oh my God, high five, seriously. I was thinking the exact same thing.  I think it would play well on the Wii too.

I want to see the game Giants remade or maybe have a sequel to it.   It was hilarious and jetpacking around blowing stuff up was awesome, the fact you could play as one of three races was awesome too.  The multiplayer was also pretty good too, a little unbalanced but that could be fixed.

Freedom Fighters too, its an amazing game and Im pretty sure that they could do some amazing things with the game with a sequel, especially internet wise.

Also, not really an old franchise but I really want a Psychonauts sequel.

I wish BioWare would release the Infinity Engine as an open-source project - possibly even with a "create your own adventure" interface.

Seriously, I would play 100 more games like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale if they existed and were even half as good (the former for depth and story, the latter for sheer hack-n-slash goodness).  And I think a lot of other people would too.  New monster/NPC graphics would be pretty cheap to do and there are already hundreds in place from the series', and as evidenced by other homebrew genres there are people out there more than willing to spend the time to code encounters and story (I mean, Jesus, how long did that StarCraft mod Fallen Angel take to make?)

The problem with that would be the pre-rendered locations and areas. Unless you recycled old areas, which a lot of people do. BG2 in particular has a vibrant modding community.

I would commit many devious acts just to get another Monkey Island. Every single quote from those games were awesome.

Behind you! A three-headed monkey!

A System Shock 3 would be sweet, too.

Dude, I'm pretty sure Halo and SSB don't count in either the "old franchise" or "need to be revived" category.

Go play Halo 3 or Brawl. There you go.

Seriously, I'd love to see a new Dungeon Master game. Maybe full-on 3D. DM2 was... allright, but it could have been a lot better.

I'd like to see a new Donkey Kong Country, but since Nintendo sold Rare, maybe they're better off sticking to the Swing series.

Total Annihilation for one

Wasn't Supreme Commander the spiritual successor to TA?

Yes, it is.  And they have done a fine job on it if I do say so myself.  I honestly feel that the engine itself they built to run SupCom is what all RTSes should be based on from here on out.  Dual-screens and the zoom feature they created are second to none in the RTS realm, and are features that should be staples of any RTS game.  Going back and playing DotA nowadays annoys the CRAP out of me because I can't zoom out.

I'm not sure if it counts as 'old' yet, but I'd love a new Breath of Fire.
