That trailer looked REALLY, REALLY bad. Mind you it was 40 seconds long and just featured two characters.... But still...it might be fun, but I'll wait for later trailers and actual gameplay footage before I give an actual opinion.

I think it's worth noting that there will be much less blood and no fatalities in this game.

If I gave a shit about fighting games I would probably care more, but instead I just am really confused as to how the hell this ended up happening.

Yeah, Mortal Kombat without fatalities is like Street Fighter without combos, Half Life without a crowbar, Sonic without any speed at all, Earthbound without any zany humor, and Final Fantasy without angsty bishies.

edit: lemme clarify. Mortal Kombat was an idea that ran out of gas about 5 iterations ago and the feel of the game is a total mis-match to the DC universe.

This game will be utterly fucked.

Wow, you took everything I was thinking and put it into perfect words.....thank you. Why can't they have a DC standalone fighting game? Seriously. They'd make it terrible but the concept would be pretty cool......but like...who would you be able to play as other than Batman?

Yeah, MK's trapped under the weight of its own cliches and of the characters affiliated with the series only a handful can honestly called iconic or even memorable. I mean, c'mon, MK is so infamous for palette swaps that when I saw that promotional image my first thought was "Wait, is that Scorpion facing off against Batman or is Sub-Zero in his old-school costume?" That's not really what I'd call a ringing endorsement of their diverse cast of characters, now is it?

Maybe the game will be decent, but frankly, the MK cast isn't really a big selling point for me at this point. I hope they place a firm emphasis on making DC the star of the show and limit the MK characters to the A-list MK regulars like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, and I suppose Sonya and Shang Tsung. Hell, my ideal scenario would have been they just throw in those last guys as an Easter egg.

I've heard REALLY good things about the latest Aquaman comics and these are by my friends who hate the poor guy. But seriously this game looks pretty bad....especially if they're doing it with the Mortal Kombat engine....which they probably are.

That's actually not the original Aquaman anymore. They ditched him in favor of a legacy character and turned the original into some weird sea monster thing.

And he didn't actually join the Outsiders, that was just a red herring cover.

Actually, I say we must not judge the game right now. Yes, it looks like a let's-put-two-series/franchises-together-to-make-money. Maybe it is. I'm sure it will not be that bad of a game.

Most people think this game is going to be crap. And at first i agreed but then i was like maybe it would be fun to ripe off supermans head. Then i heard it was rated teen and i was wow way to kill it. But then gametrailers.com did some stuff with it and there are still going to be fatalities just no head ripes and other bits of the ol ultravoilence. Like i saw footage of scorpion setting fire to the flash. Or superman smashing a guy into the ground like a nail, also the character list has some surprises like the JOKER. but he looks badass and his fatality is really funny. So i think the MK might surprise a lot of people or complety bomb but there is a chance it might be good

Sry about the spelling here is the character list tho.

MK roster:Jax,Kano,Kitana,Liu Kang,Raiden,Scorpion,Sub Zero,Sonya Blade, and Shang Tzung

Because there's only a little bit of blood.

A lot of developers, foreign game makers especially, have pointed out that the ESRB's standards for what it considers objectionable content are completely batshit. Whether that's an issue with the organization itself or a reflection of a greater problem within American/Canadian culture is debatable.

I hate the rage eyes and that hand thing thatthe characters do. You can see the Joker do it before his shoot-you-in-the-face fatality, and chances are everyone will do it.

The graphics are growing on me, but I still don't like the idea of DC characters fighting Mortal Kombat characters. To be honest, I think I am anti-MK. If this was a pure DC Universe game I would be a lot more interested in it.

I also am not a big fan of the eyes i was hoping that it won't make it into the final product. Another ffeature i dont like is the "grapple" system that makes it get close and go into quicktime type event that seemed to slow to me like the characters are tanks fighting rather then agile fighters.
