I actually think this is kind of interesting! There is a link between facial expressions and mood, I believe we looked at a study way back in high school where people had to put golf tees on your face (I think
this looks like it?) and tried to make them touch, which simulates frowning, which actually made them sad!
So, for whatever reason, smiling to the left makes me feel wistful and cheery, whereas smiling only to the right makes me think of me telling that lady that one time no, it's OK, you're not a terrible person for leading me on when you weren't sure, yeah, it's OK, we can be friends, why should I be mad at you, what would that even accomplish? It's a very unhappy happy.
