I was thinking about the comic where Sven and Hannelore went on the pretend date. What struck me about it was that it actually showed a slightly different side of Sven, a part that was actually pretty vulnerable and capable of screwing up (and boy did he ever). I guess what I'm wondering is if others had any thoughts on them being friends similar to how Hannelore and Marten are. I figure it might help us get some more information on either Sven or Dora, and it could also be some potential stuff with Deathmole since their old songwriter seems to be in or near the feeding pen of the dreaded  . Also, Hannelore observed that Sven was a nice guy, nicer than he, Dora, or Faye gave him credit for and they did seem to genuinely have fun together. I'm just wondering if anyone else thinks that them having friendship oriented interactions, and/or hanging out with Marten and others is plausible/a good idea.

Sven said he had a good time with a just-friends non-date, so maybe he'll want more of the same.

Has he ever had a female justafriend?

Harriet (=Sven's lawyer) might fit the bill. Hard to say how close they really are/were.

Edit: I mean, it is hard to say how close friends they are. Most likely not as close as, say, Faye & Marten.

I had assumed that it was mostly a professional relationship, IE they might have been cordial or even friendly but the relationship was based more heavily in the realms of business transaction than proper friendship.

Good catch: 1165 says Harriet is a friend from college.

Lydia is a good question. Sven offered to play Mario Kart with her, which is a friend thing rather than a professional thing. Lydia seemed to have wanted to keep it purely professional.

And since she apparantly graduated and moved on (well, at least moved on - most nternships only last a semester or two), it's a moot point.

Wait, when did it say Lydia's no longer there?  Hasn't it only been a few months since she started?

She hasn't appeared in a long enough time that I'm pretty sure seasons have changed more than once, and so the semester of her internship would have passed.

Doesn't make it so, of course.  But I'm not holding my breath for her sudden return...

So Sara was eaten by an Allosaurus, Ellen should have contracted Dolphin sphyllis by now. Raven is back in college. So what do we happened to Lydia? Personally, I'm going with her being abducted by Aliens to feed their children, I mean, intergalatic nannies must cost a fortune.

I could kinda see Hannelore tentatively playing WoW after Marigold prompted her to.  As a way of interacting with others or something like that.  And if Hannelore became online buds with Sven, perhaps without even noticing... I know it's a one-in-a-million thing, but still.  It'd be cute.  And then the reveal would follow.  :D

I just had this rather worrisome mental image of Hannelore laughing happily as her mage or warlock burns down hundreds of opponents saying 'Fire cleans EVERYTHING' while Winslow looks very nervous.

I doubt that'd go well.  Hanners would probably respond with "but that's so unsanitary!" and then burn her phone, just to be safe.

Is it cold in here was probably responding more to the turn the previous poster took in the conversation.  Your response was tame enough, and true to character, but it was  another step down a path we shouldn't tread.

why am I explaining other people's posts?

They both play instruments. They could jam together.

Hannelore:  ...but I don't understand this song.  Why would he sleep with his dog because his wife left him?  His bed is right there!  And the dog's house would be filthy!  You'd need to delouse it, and then get the fleas, and then get rid of all the dog hair, and then use air fresheners, and of course you'd have to launder all of it and probably pressure-wash the inside of the kennel, and then of course to clean the dog you'd need...

Sven:  Uh, h-hey!  I got an idea, w-why don't we just play some classic rock instead of one of my songs?  Yeah?

... Except that as Hanners really got rollin' with her critique, all the punctuation would drop away.

Because there is that could trigger Hanners' OCD in classic rock.  Street Fightin' Man, Me and Bobbi McGee, etc. I'm looking at you

Although as a means of character development, the social outing between the two of them was very well handled and if the man decides to take it farther at some point, then there is at least some precedent.  Granted it ain't gonna happen for some time

Me and Bobbi McGee

"I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
I was playing soft while Bobby sang the blues..."

Yecch.  I've always had a hard time with that line (I used to play a harmonica), and I'm not even slightly OCD.

Do you have any idea what grows  in those things if they're not kept clean?
