Actually, they kind of are in relation to a lot of things. Zeiss and Swarovski optics and crystal, arguable the best in the world, are german companies. Muhle Glaschute watches are said to be extremely fine watches, and the same can be said about Sinn and other German watchmakers. Some of the best fly reels for fishing come from Germany. There was a time when American made cars couldn't be expected to last more than a few years, during that time Mecedes Benz automobiles were referred to as a "10 year car" because, unlike American and other foreign vehicles, Benz (and BMWs) would last for 3 or 4 times as longer than domestic counterparts. Though its reaching back quite far, the small tolerances and precision engineering on weapons during WWII made German produced weapons and machinery the most finely made. Historians have even said that exceedingly high quality of German engineered machinery, instead of mass production, helped to lose the war for Germany. Basically, Germany has a history of producing amazingly high quality in anything that requires preicison machined parts. Now, the Shamwow isn't machined, but in relation to some things German Made= Quality.
