There's a lesson here kids. If you shove your hand on a still-hot hotplate, don't wait 8 hours to go get it checked out. You'll be thankful when they give you strong painkillers and bandage up your second-degree burns. The tetanus shot may also be an added bonus!
(also, my hand is wrinkly in the first photo from being in cold water for a long time. I burned the fleshy bit at the base of my thumb, the palm near the base of my fingers and three of my actual fingers. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, I must admit.)
