Just a couple hours ago I was on gmail chat with my youngest sister who is visiting Korea right now. She was telling me she's going to visit the Demilitarized Zone tomorrow. I'll tell her to check out this hotel; as long as she keeps changing direction suddenly while running she should have no problems getting across the border.

Every time we talk about North Korea, I get Everyday Combat by Lostprophets stuck in my head.  I am seriously frightened of ever going near this place.  Which is why they need a private airport strictly for people wishing to see this hotel.  Minimal chance of being murdered just for wanting to visit a kickass building.

North Korea truly is terrifying and the people are horrifically oppressed.

However.... if you want to see awesome buildings just go to Chicago, our buildings are the awesom-est! I am really looking forward to the Spire, not to derail the thread (*stairs worriedly at trollstormur's avatar*)

We recently built a "skyscraper" in my "city", it completely dominates the skyline and has this white sort of oblong shaped thing on the top, so it looks like a giant tic tac was dropped on it!
We didnt even know it was being built and then all of a sudden *poof* there it is! There was a huge dispute in Dublin over this "skyscraper" being built there,yet here in Cork ,where I'm from, we werent even told what this big grey thing was!

I am loving this skyscraper boom though, Chicago's got fifteen under construction, two approved, and twenty-one proposed buildings right now and they all bleed awesomeness.

well this building is called the elysian, and it doesnt really look too tic tacky, i just have a weird way of looking at things!

I like the building, it seems to be going for a super-ritzy atmosphere though, which I suppose isn't necessarily a bad thing but I prefer the blue collar myself (not like any skyscraper is going to be blue collar, but still  :-P)

I just found out that there is currently a skyscraper named(?) Elysian being built in Chicago, weird.

its a pure eyesore,i live about 10 mins walk from it, and it blocks half our view of the city from my house!
you can see it from every part of cork, its just a pure balls tbh!

but sure if there's gonna be places for people to live, how bad like!
