Since LittleKey seems happy with the responses, can I hijack this for a general recommendation thread?

I'd like someone to recommend me some good places to start and essential listening for the following:

1) Industrial - I've listened to a bunch of Skinny Puppy here and there, Angelspit (mainly because they're local), and a few others. I'd like to know where to start with the older stuff, though.

2) "Dark" Ambient - I know fuck all about this genre, but what I've heard I liked. Caul is the most recent example that springs to mind.

3) Nick Cave - Yeah. That. Should I kick off with the Birthday Party, or Bad Seeds stuff is basically what I'd like to know.

How to buy Nick Cave, you say?

Why I wrote an article on just that...

Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb for accessible EBM, Cabaret Voltaire's pre-1983 output, ClockDVA, Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle (if you don't mind ugly, noisy stuff).  If you like those, there are about a million other decent 80s/90s industrial acts.

Of Montreal is actually really really good, Kevin Barnes is very good at writing pop songs.
